I really love the way these levels from what I've seen, but I sadly can't actually try them because my devmode is screwed up. I'll try them if I can fix my devmode or when the level portal comes out.  So the best I can say is it looks like a great chapter.  Which it does.

Your levels really look good, although the background in some of your levels feels weird because it's too bright (Levels 2 and 20 were the most notable offenders to me). I'm pretty sure that darkening the back layer probably would make some of the levels look better.

Gameplay-wise, the maps are generally fun to play, although I found that you kept using the same tricks a lot through the chapter and after a while, some of the levels felt repetitive. Then again, the forest tileset doesn't really give you a lot of variety in the obstacles to work with so it's not a big deal. At least, the levels are interesting enough to keep you going and they're enjoyable.

My main issue with the chapter was the difficulty curve, it seemed a bit ballistic to me. Level 3 was one of the hardest levels in the chapter to me, yet it's followed afterwards by a bunch of levels which really are easy in comparison (especially Nightvision, which was way easier than any other level in the pack). I didn't really hit another wall with the difficulty until the final quarter of the chapter, most notably with that one tiny level with the huge rotating blades which cover almost all the level, which is the only level in the pack that I didn't enjoy at all.

My favorite portions would be the upside-down level (which looked magnificent), that floating island map with the blue skies, the final level (I like large levels that fit in one screen) and the second level which is really good for speeding around, which is something the chapter sometimes forbids you to do as the levels are tricky enough so that you can't speed your way through them.

Good job on the chapter, I enjoyed playing it and it's definitely worth checking out.

Thanks for the input! It's tough to get a good idea of a difficulty curve with a small sample size, since some people find different obstacles and aspects of the game more/less difficult than others. For instance, I didn't find level 3 that hard at all (that's why it's level 3 :P).

Wonder what it would take to get this put up on Teh Internets.

Played through all of them yesterday and I thought they were really nice.  Some of the jumps were a bit annoying though.  My least favorite levels would be 6 and 18. 6's design seemed pretty eh to me.  18 was just annoyingly precise jumps, especially at the top.  The level design seemed pretty fresh for the most part, some new concepts I'd never seen before.  All in all a great chapter. Sorry I don't have a more in-depth review.

Allright man ,you playd mine, i playd yours

Ok ok, i didt complete all of them because im a lazy guy sometimes x)
but it was allso because i actually didnt figure out how to make it -.-
but i tryd them all! :)

lvl01 was good :D, lvl02 - when you make backtiles n stuff you often have too much contrast ;( only level i died on because of it (metal plates i tought i could walljump on)
and from lvl03 and so on i see you like rotateing saw blads ^^ ..damn you xD Not that i havent used them myself but, triple sawblades at high speed? come on! though i found out just jumping and hoping for the best workd on that level ^^

I think it was lvl12 i didnt complete because i couldnt make that walljump by the rotateing sawblades.. i tryd like 20 times but couldnt get it. lvl14 was a little confusing at the end, should maby zoom the cam out a bit. speakn of the camera, you mostly have the same zoom on all of the levels ^^ som levels needs to bee zoomed out a bit! and level 18 is a good example! xD

oh yeah level 15 was a little frustrating because the metal pipe things in the middle was kinda hideing meat boy! i often ran into the sawblade because of that, so i didnt finish it but i could probably make it ;D

Sorry not a very good review of your levels but as i said, lazy ^^ and ive started on another chapter for another character then meat boy no its not the kid! can you guess?

btw i liked the look of lvl19! :D tought it was alot harder then i fucking thought!
speakn of the visual design, you dont exactly worry as much about it as me i think ^^
im the kinda person who needs it perfect with design and gameplay combined.. so yeah

But greate work! Meat Boy

Edit: about the difficulty xD its damn right around cotton alley light world. i think you have too many "perfect jumps needed" many places. But its cool to see how you can make so many diffrent challanges with the first chapter set (y)

That's a polite way of saying you think your maps look better than mine. On the other hand, more decoration does not necessarily mean better looking.

Thats true! not that i have better looking levels, but about decorations ^^
My levels are.. diffrent, i guess ;D i spend so much time on the visuals i actually study the level design from the game before i make anything. right now im studying the salt factory (hint hint ) which has the perfect design for my character, and no its not ogmo!

Edit: Hmmm!

Tried a few of these levels, though not too many since I'm exhausted and that's not a good time to be doing SMB type platforming.

Quick notes...level 1 and 2 were spot on as "difficult but introductory" and 4 is great but 3...that got dumb really quickly, at least for me. I 310'd the original, so I'm pretty good, but like that one poster said it seemed more  luck than anything. Put this on a limited-lives set and you'd have people going on shooting sprees.

Your production values, if the term can be applied here, look really good. And so is most of the gameplay of the few levels i've tried so far, aside from 3. My only suspicion is that you seem to have some superfluous stuff going on...you know, hazards where no one is going to go anyway...but I'll give you a more detailed review later. I might be wrong.

Bumped this thread because I played the levels some time ago and it was awesome. Some levels are hard, I can remember 2 levels that almost made me rage at them, but after beat all levels and get all bandages I can really say "Guys, download this and play the levels, you are not going to be disappointed"
