just dont forget to set the capture size to the half size in fraps options. Another thing is, you could try to play/record in a window. If it still does not helps, i am afraid that you have got to upgrade your pc.

i just still advice you to use of the other characters. like you can see in my videos, naija and the kid are very helpful for making zombie boy. Even headcrab (if you play pc version) avoided the randmoness and buglyness of the "5-9x: Swine" level :P

agree, keyboard = gamepad :) it's just about your own preferences. but still, i did these videos and wrote the comment, because each time i turn on the game i saw "GAMEPAD > KEYBOARD" sequences by the developers. So i just felt myself forced to prove, that keyboard runs are possible as well :)

summarizing i can say, that reaction is the only thing you need to play ^^ it' totally independend from the controller

may be you should unlock all bonus characters first, they are often really great help or even allow you to use some kind of absolutely safe way to complete a level.

i know that feeling, i sat like 2 weeks on girl boy ^^ luckily impossble boy took me only 4 days (played like 4hrs/day), and yes, i understand how ultra lucky it is. however i did all the other achievements before so the overall SMB training time for the last achievement is still very great.

the other good thing is, after a while, you have played the start levels of your order so often, that you can change the order, and do your current start level in the middle or even almost to the end of the run.

Oi... I'm trying to get Impossible Boy right now...

My best run so far is 7-7x to 7-18x, screwed up on XOXO on the first floor. I estimate I'll have it by tomorrow, but damn is it going to be frustrating.

my supposed run order was unlike i did in the video. In my youtube video i was actually traing for the run and then i was just lucky enough to get the achievement  . my plan was to do 7,8,9, 19, 20 and then the other levels. Because you take about 40 seconds to do 7,8,9 and then it's not such a big problem to die @ level 19 if you do it next. So it is only 1 minute of your life gone if you fail. The other reason for the order were those small saws in 19 and 20, which simply kill you if you press you jump button 0,2 seconds too early or too late ^^

If you have some other problems with doing this run, let me know, may be i can give you a good advice. I actually think about writing a little guide (but right now i've got no time for it)about the safe way to complete each level.

actually i captured the runs, because there is no proper replay function for this :D the other reason was, that the existing impossible boy run was without steam overlay, and girl boy run wasnt there at all ^^

got all achievements on keyboard :)

after studying each level very exactly, i have actually found out, that there is no randomness at all. it's only about perfection of your reaction time. And of course in reality i do more, than you can see in the video. For example a few levels need a good "shift"-handling (i mean the run-button).

EDIT: and I've tried to prepare myself for Impossible Boy, but I can't pass stupid Patience :P So I'll rest a while from this game, and then I'll find my tactis for this bastard level :P

just do this like me, and think about the run-handling ^^ the point is to relese run button (you can even release all keys) for the momen before you get the key and continue pressing run after you get it. If you do it this way, you can get to the place where i avoid all the missiles in the video run, and it works whole time, unless you make some other mistake



and those little tricks, can be found on each level. just aske me if you need some help, may be i can write a little guide about those levels with a little trick ^^
