Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: 03 May - Big update! Rating + Uploads + Music + Editor Tool

Without some way to save times, the entirety of Super Meat World and the editor itself is completely worthless.
This is the slightly harsher-worded version of exactly how I feel. I feel like a broken record but I won't be interested in SMW until the times and A+'s are saving, at least for the official chapters, I don't really care about the one-offs. I haven't played SMB in over a month now thinking this will be implemented, and if it doesn't make it in soon, it may as well just fall by the wayside at this point, I loved the vanilla game and maybe that's all I needed.

I'm reserving judgment on faith that we will get times and A+'s saved, once SMW has that, I will be 100% ok with it. Until then, it appeals to me much less than it otherwise would and I have spent maybe an hour just briefly dabbling with it whereas if times were saving I'd have taken a much more serious approach to playing through each chapter, trying for A+'s, etc.

But rant over, seriously Team Meat completion and A+ for SMW is my only wish.
Right there with ya man, I kind of think the ARG is cool I just for the most part can't be bothered to follow it every step of the way. Until the SMW chapters (I don't really care about 1-off levels, but definitely the chapters) are recording completion times and A+'s I just can't get into them.

Now THAT was unfortunate. And (I apologize) totally hilarious, thanks for uploading that despite the fact I'm sure you were annoyed! 'sides, the way you were going, you'll nail that run next time (are you intentionally going for a Kid-only run? I feel that he's at a disadvantage in a number of those levels, though good at many of them).

I'm pretty sure he took the same mini shots the guy in the original video did, in fact that pretty much has to be what he did, for the very reasons you list! Otherwise yeah, he'd be dead, and then we wouldn't have a video to look forward to, and that would be unfortunate!

Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Controller or Keyboard?

I just like playing platformers with a controller. It goes all the way back to Mario 1 on the NES... it's just what I grew up with. I don't even really play many console games anymore but when it comes to platformers, the controller feels right. That said I've played plenty of platformers with the keyboard and didn't particularly feel like there was anything wrong with it. I will admit that the idea of mashing the keyboard for a game as frantic as SMB doesn't really appeal to me (especially ergonomically), but if it works for others (as it obviously does), knock yourself out!

Still holding out hope that we'll see level times, completions and A+s recorded for SMW. About the only thing that gives me hope that we actually may see that is the fact that voting is also still broken.

What I really dislike is that after doing all this, these The End levels don't feel difficult anymore. I got them down in my memory and I will never enjoy their difficulty again like I used to. This worries me greatly and I hope I'll feel better about them after a good night of sleep. Grats on finishing the run! Now, do you hear that sound? No? Well, Dr. Fetus Boy's a knockin'! (I'm not necessarily saying that should be your next run, but hey, you want challenge, there's a dark version of those levels just waiting for ya to run)

I'm not sure I can see myself trying a no-death-run without the dangling carrot of seeing the achievement pop up as I completed it , but these are some cool unofficial names. More than anything I'll be happy once the portal levels are saving times and A+s, I can't even get motivated to play through them (aside from a little dabbling) till then.

Heck with that, make Meat Boy's slot variable. Some button when he's highlighted (or up and down on the select screen when entering a level) cycles through the Meat Boy sidegrades. Tofu Boy after you've used the Petaphile code once, Brownie, Potato Boy, and maybe the 8bit Meat Boy could be crammed into that slot. This would be nice actually, have the user enter the codes once then they become available on the selection screen... that would be really cool actually!
