As I love sandbox games, I play this game everyday. I just like finally finishing that underwater base after 3 days of mining for cobblestone, and finding some diamonds on my way down, even when suddenly a creeper decides to spawn in my tower because I forgot the torch there and I have to rebuild it. Also Multiplayer is fun. You can help other by sharing houses, destroy them again, PVP, Spleef, go mining together, backstab the other at the end to grab all resources and get pushed off a cliff in return :D

Nevertheless, it is still an official mario game developped by Nintendo and whch marketing was as important as any Super Mario plateformer.
Nope, it was developed by Square I'm still having Wii and DS, but for DS there's nothing I'm playing right now, and I use the Wii mostly for BIT.TRIP and multiplayer. Nothing beats Brawl in local multiplayer. The point I really agree with is the Online one. The friend code stuff is a stupid idea, and even with the 3DS they keep that. It's jsut one FC for all games then, but still, why not a name chosen by the player so you can acutally remember it?

i hardly call gamer maker programming.
While this is true, it's a great start to get into coding. I started with D'n'D, moved on to the simple GML and from there I learned Java, PHP, C++ and AS3. Right now, I prefer AS3 as you can make games which are cross-OS-compatible, and if it doesn't work on, let's say Mac, it's because Adobe fucked up, not because you are using a OS-specific function.
