1  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: The "SMB Birthday event" thread! (SMB games pack + Tim on PC + BSOs on Steam!) on: January 09, 2012, 01:41:17 PM
Anyone have problems of getting the console freezed on the new levels?
2  General Stuff / General Discussion / Re: What PC/Laptop do you use? LAG ISSUES on: December 27, 2011, 04:16:44 PM
Intel Pentium 4, 540, 3.2 Ghz
2 Gb RAM DDR2 (1Gb Kingmax + 1Gb Nanya)
Nvidia Geforce GT 430 (NEW!)

2 HDs (Maxtor 75Gb where XP is installed and Samsung, 1Tb, for storage)

I have really annoying lag issues with SMB on this pc.
I wrote to Tommy who adviced me to replace my old ATI RADEON X300 with a new one
Quote
The ATI Radeon X300 is below specs. The game still runs, but not very
well. Your CPU is fine, it is most definitely your graphics card.

So I thought this new graphic card (Nvidia GT 430) would make the difference but unfortunately it didnt. Not at all!
And nothing changes with lowering resolution or playing at -ultralowdetail.

Thinking what can be or not be, the processor is the oldest component (10 years more or less). And when i get this lag- slowing down issues (which i've noticed, are very cyclical, let's say every 10-15 seconds) the CPU gets very high (100% or so).
So I am thinking to buy a new processor but also considering if it's worth to spend 120 $ almost only for Super Meat Boy (yes, i fucking love this geme!), without being sure if it's going to work.

I'm not much into PC gaming, (I have an XBOX 360 for that) just want to play new Super Meat Boy levels perfectly  and a few other indie games (like Binding of Isaac which I bought and its TOTALLY unplayable! )

Any advise?
Tommy told me that a cheap Dual Core or Athlon 2 will run SMB at perfection, what do you think guys about the RAM, the power pack and everything else can be related with my issues?

4  Super Meat Boy / Help! / Re: How the hell do cameras work? on: December 25, 2011, 08:02:10 AM
Hi, I am less than a level editor noob..I've just started, step by step to copy the "boxlevel" dear Edmund has made for us in the tutorial. Forgive me if I will be making stupid and banal questions for the next year. I hope you'll be patient, because i am starting from zero.
About the camera, why do i cannot select a single camera node by right clicking? What's wrong? With more nodes it usually work, if there is just one there's no way to get it selected (green).
I am at the 1:35, second video of the tutorial and I simply would like to do the same as Edmund.
(is the layer scrolling autamatically after he selected the node and dragged on the selected area or his he doing with ASDW? What's the point to select a camera node then?)

Another strange thing, if I switch from camera mode to Play Mode (F1) Meat Boy explodes repeatedly on the screen is it a bug? How to avoid it?
Thank you guys!

P.s. i dont know if it's relevant I have a 4:3 screen and due to someone advice in this forum i forced -1280x720 -windowed through Steam's launch options. I hope it was a good idea.

Ultralower detail doesn't change anything to me, except that is horribly low
Lowering resolution seem also useless for my case.

I got some results just overclocking the Atom processor at 2.0 Ghz and even higher, but still not perfect on the bosses levels.

If I cook my little eeepc for playing SMB, i hope i will get a Steam achievement, at least.Meat Boy

@qZMp: thanks for the thread, i totally missed it.
6  Super Meat Boy / Tech Support / SMB runs slow on my eeepc 1000H on: April 08, 2011, 03:09:21 PM
I am Playing SMB on a netbook Asus eeepc 1000H, Atom 1.6 ghz (integrated graphic card Chipset 945 Express Family), 2Gb RAM, Windows XP.

The game run generally slow, but particularly in some levels (the bosses are almost impossible to play). I've tried to overclock until 2.0 Ghz, and now the game runs quite faster (significantly decreased load times, decent gameplay in the "normal" levels) but same problem with the bosses and more vast/mechanized levels: more difficult to control Meat Boy and sometimes he passes thorough walls/objects.

My graphic card driver is up to date as well as DirectX.

I switched on lowdetail, Vsynch should be active, tried windowed mode (couldn't notice any difference), and i am actually playing at 1024x600.

-lowdetail runs fine on a netbook. I have an Asus Aspire One. 1.6Ghz Intel Atom, 1GB Ram, Integrated Intel GMA 950 inside. If I switch on low detail, the game maintains a 50-60fps for most levels. It is very playable with extremely small load times.

So, my eeepc 1000H should definitely work better.

Any tip?

P.s. I love this game! Just bought the pc version right after having completed and achieved everything on XBLA, and I want to play and do 100% again! I am so addicted!
