Also, go try and beat my score on 3-15x, I've been trying to record myself beating it and I simply can't get past 8.62.  Maybe you or 73L would have better luck.

Wish granted! I tried out Kaede's route, but the start irked me. Naturally, I had to devise my own route.

Something else that's recently been on my mind was 5-1x with Meat Boy. I kept thinking there just HAD to be a way to get up to bandage girl faster. What I've found is that it is possible to wall jump off that one block space next to the bottom saw and still live. I haven't been able to squeeze through the upper saw yet, and pulling off the wall jump needs to be perfectly timed, but if done optimally could shave off at least 10 seconds (assuming it's possible to get through).

As for 3-13x, I don't want to even bother doing the cut again. Sure, it could be done, though I have that feeling of simply not wanting to. After you make the cut, you can take it easy for the rest of the run since you have a 4 second lead.

Just a few of my notable optimizations today.  Been a while since I fired up the Steam version.

[...]

Edit:  And yes, I died horribly in the salt about 15-20 times.  Was pretty much the ratio, 500 deaths to one successful cut, which almost always ended in the salt.  I'm hesistant to even try this on 3-13x...

Nice job, you should really try to get some live recordings done. :P I'm all alone with these recordings right now.
From what I was able to figure, there's only 6 levels left with which we need a live recording for to finish the ILs! They are 3-14x, 3-16x, 6-5, 7-11x, 7-16, and 7-19x.

I tried a REALLY hard route on 3-16x for almost 3 hours straight and couldn't get it: Demonstration of my best attempt
The start wasn't done too well in this run, so you would be able to get a slightly better lead.

On 3-13, I made it a habit to press jump whenever I thought I was close to making it through. Never again did I run into the salt.

Haha, sweet I guess he was onto something.  I'm definitely going to try and nail this route too, from all of my practice on 5-13 this seems it would be easier than going the slower way and clearing the platform bandage girl sits on perfectly.

Most of this run rests on how early you wall jump off the first vertical wall. If you're too late, you'll never catch the last one in time. (You're aware of this already.)

I found that I really like using Meat Boy recently, it's so much easier for me than Naija. :P And on topic of annoying speedruns, 5-7 with Naija was definitely one of the toughest I have ever done. Took me a day or two of playing until I eventually got it.

Edit: What I think I'll do is to simply finish runs that haven't been done for the Meat Boy IL tables. There shouldn't be much left, but this way we'd have something official to go by.

As for the possible new strat, my roommate apparently just did 5-13x the same route you would do 5-13.  Said you need to let off the run button right before touching the 2nd to last disappearing block so you can start the wall jumps further down, then just barely catch the last block before it disappears.

I'll see if he wants to upload the replay (he's running the Linux ver), but he also said there may have been a bit of lag so it may not be repeatable.  I don't know, if it is possible it's pretty borderline impossible.

Edit:  Since your really good with a keyboard, you should totally try out a Hitbox (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGU1d-cmtuQ) with this game.  Playing it with a arcade stick is pretty cool, but I'd think for a keyboard player this would be great.

Oh wow, I literally nailed the 5-13 route in 5-13x just a minute ago. (just finished uploading) ThoughI was holding run the entire time.

And that Hit Box thing is crazy-looking, I'd definitely want to at least try it out.

Damn, you beat Telesniper on 6-4x!!!!   Awesome run.  I actually used Kaede's template for 6-4x when I did this, so I'll attempt to give this method a try.  My list is growing. :P

Pretty awesome people are still finding new paths and optimizations for this, roommate may have just found a ridiculous new strat on 5-13x.

Anyway, are you using a keyboard?

Keyboard? Yep! I thought that was pretty apparent in my replays, judging by the symbols.

The main thing about 6-4x is at the end, at first you want to slightly hesitate and not jump.. or you'll want to wait for the saw to give you room to wall jump (like Kaede did), which is unnecessary since wall jumping off the only the right side is fine.

As far as new strats or requests, if you have anything you want me to try out, I'm all ears.

And I agree on 6-4x, very annoying level to speedrun.  But I nearly caught your score there, if only I hadn't slightly missed bandage girl at the end!

After months of not even making an attempt to improve this level, I had to go back in and remind myself why I didn't like it. To my astonishment, 6-4x grants more leniency with passing/jumping over the saws than I had originally remembered.

First improvement was only by .03, then I kept going until I got a time I was happy with; I started from 22.15 > 22.12 > 22.00 > 21.88 > 21.83
Had to deal with fraps giving me prolonged frame rate drops at times (and so many good runs were ruined because of this), but I got my final run captured, with a rather clean replay:  http://youtu.be/FkViyqsCMZ0

1) 7-12x Pink: The hard route.

2) 3-2x Salt + Wound (with Naija): Seriously, don't try this. It's hard enough to even complete this level with her, let alone speedrun it. Most of the trickiness comes from the fact that the very first two dashes have to be turnaround superdashes, and have to be arced perfect enough to not die and land where you need to.

3) 6-4x Maze of Ith: Too much precise timing involved to be enjoyable.

4) 7-7x Going Up: Going up at intense speeds and having to just barely maneuver around a saw to wall jump off a one and a half block space.. not fun.

Btw Jintek, thought I'd try my hand at 5-13 with Meat Boy, surprisingly not that bad: http://youtu.be/2a95z9NEER0

You're welcome ;) Awesome run btw, and closing to 2000sec mark, go go :P

Haha! Just broke the 2000 second barrier.

It's still unofficial since I have about 8 more seconds to make up for my glitched times, but this be the first time without any warp zone shenanigans. :p

Kid 2 Speedrun

Thank you bullexcrements, for making me endure this pain. It was a pleasure :)

Sorry Jintek, I may have almost perfected it.

I just achieved 1.34, the second dash was started before I even landed.

New route for 3-13x with Naija! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDg--BcAE0Y

^I use Windows Live Movie Maker, since I only need a program to trim/add music.

Thank you Jintek, your feedback is appreciated  ^^

I had been purposely avoiding the 4-8s because they were such a pain to do a certain way. Today, I found an easier method and improved both of them rather significantly (~1.45 seconds total).

As for 5-8x, you should have an easy time getting through the saws, it only takes a little bit of persistence to pull off. :)

It's done! My second compilation is finally finished, here it is.

A third compilation is definitely possible...

I looked into this level some more to see if you could go underneath both saws, unfortunately this didn't work out so well. This video shows an attempt to do so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW9l6hA4x_o

It might be possible to adjust your movement so that this doesn't happen, but I doubt it. You can see that your dash only refreshes right before you hit the saw.

I thought this was worth posting:

I have a few more runs that I've been uploading over the past few days, feel free to give those a watch as well. :]
