^ Thank you

Beating you on 3-7 took a LOT of time and persistence, it didn't happen in a couple of hours or even a week. They were mainly small portions of attempts over a long period to pull it off. I also had to spend some time trying to figure out the strat. Now as for the dark world version.. I don't think I'll ever take 3-7x from you.

I truly underestimate Runman's ability to compete on other various levels where he doesn't look to be a good choice (or maybe I love using Naija too much). You keep proving to me that he's still got some kick, good job to you.
17  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Your Super Meat Boy Gameplay Videos on: January 22, 2012, 01:44:09 AM
I enjoyed it, but honestly.

There are enough Naija compilations out there, it is not the most amazing thing anymore to view what she is capable of.

Awesome records as always though.  +1
I disagree, I greatly enjoy watching any new compilations or videos that are released, as little as they do come.

Taku, another great vid you have there. You've given me a couple of ideas, and you're really utilizing those last dashes into bandage girl. Your 5-13 is done differently than the route I had in mind, which is probably why you think it's easy to do. :p The route I was thinking of consisted of nonstop dashes.

^ Anyway, I'd be good with that. That's another thing, I only record replays, be best if they were all done either live or with replays and not a mix imo.  Oh.. unless you took back 3-7 recently, I claimed the record awhile back after many agonizing tries.. but don't let that stop you from posting a replay.

ladies and gentlemen I present you:

thank you, thank you. Please, no pictures.  I'll be here all week.

Who is the legit #1 for this map? I may have dethroned another meat boy level. If I only have to be .3 , I did 6.83 my first try completely winging it.

I think I had the top legit time on this level, that 6.80 is real and was done with meat boy as shown. I was aware that this level is easily glitched, so I purposely avoided using runman or naija. Guess I'm lucky I didn't glitch on the light world version. :x
The level can still be done a fair bit faster using meat boy, I'll get around to it.. eventually.

5-13 can be done insanely fast, but the route is ridiculous to do correctly. Now I have a reason to go back and try again. :p
I'm really glad to be seeing all of this active competition again.

I was just fooling around in rapture and I managed to shave 2 seconds off that level, beating 73L's score by .40 , Runman is supreme for this one.

That officially brings me under 2300 seconds and my global ranking is like 400 or 500 something lol, I should be ranked 3rd or 4th technically from what I know.

Oh nice, I think I may have tried this level with Runman before (a looong time ago) and didn't do so well. And to think of all the time I put into this level trying to optimize with naija. :s   Still, I refuse to re-run this level with Runman (in the same sense that you seem to refuse to use naija sometimes), so again nice job.
20  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Naija Speedruns on: May 18, 2011, 02:55:57 PM
Speedrunning is pretty much dead, but I made a speedrun video anyway:

If you want to try and take any of them, go ahead and do so, because I'm aching for some competition.

Bringing this thread back just to show one of my speedruns with the almighty Naija. You can beat a lot of the saws to save a good 1-2 seconds.

It came out so blurry ._.

Pretty sure that's the #1 time. Have a replay too.

Gettin' in on this, too.

v   I know for sure that guy isn't legit, despite his time being reasonable compared to mine. There are a lot of levels where his times are bs. And he's only played this game for 4.1 hours, which doesn't match up with his high leaderboard rank. But to remove any doubt, I will go and beat his time.
23  Super Meat Boy / Level Editing / Re: Super Meat World announcement! (shhhhhh) on: April 01, 2011, 04:27:28 PM
I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but it's annoying as hell.

-If you switch to the same character you're using with the pause menu, it doesn't reset the level, it just unpauses with no effect.

It's a pain in the ass when speedrunning, since switching is usually much faster than dying if you mess up. Whether this was how it was supposed to be originally, or to stop people from not dying.. I'd appreciate it if you guys changed it back to the way it was.
24  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Differences between 4bit/4color/8bit meat boy on: February 25, 2011, 04:07:06 PM
Yeah, 4 Bit Meat Boy spawns faster. You'll notice that the laser isn't active (as bold), in the first second or so. This allows you to slip by and is much easier to do with Ogmo since he has an even faster spawn.
25  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: No-death achievements! Let's help each other to get them! on: February 24, 2011, 07:43:26 PM
Oh my godnez... I made it, I'm now owner of my shiny, pink Impossible Boy achievement :D Holy jumping fuckin Jesus... :P I could write much about the run, but I'm just exhausted :P So, here's the levels order:

6-20, 1-5
...

Dayyumm man, nice going. Doesn't it feel great to get it out of the way?  Meat Boy  Same last level as me, too. :P

As for that video you have there, your anger would of only barely captured my rage after failing one of my runs.
And I was gonna do the same to get a screencap of the pop-up from switching to windowed mode, but I got too scared from something stupid like the game crashing that I didn't try.

Enough story out of me, congrats on Impossible Boy. :)

Edit: Wow, the latest Steam update allows for screenshots. Wouldn't that have been useful four days ago.

27  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: No-death achievements! Let's help each other to get them! on: February 20, 2011, 06:08:25 PM
*laughs maniacally*

Did I do that, did I REALLY just do that?!

I got scared from the achievement not popping up after about 15 seconds like it normally does. But now, I am at peace.

--Oh yeah, the level order:   1   ->   7 to 9   ->   13 to 20   ->   10 to 11   ->   2 to 4   ->   12   ->   6   ->   5

Do not attempt unless you are prepared to pull your hair out.
28  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: No-death achievements! Let's help each other to get them! on: February 20, 2011, 09:36:17 AM
Oi... I'm trying to get Impossible Boy right now...
...
My best run so far is 7-7x to 7-18x, screwed up on XOXO on the first floor. I estimate I'll have it by tomorrow, but damn is it going to be frustrating.

my supposed run order was unlike i did in the video. In my youtube video i was actually traing for the run and then i was just lucky enough to get the achievement  . my plan was to do 7,8,9, 19, 20 and then the other levels. Because you take about 40 seconds to do 7,8,9 and then it's not such a big problem to die @ level 19 if you do it next. So it is only 1 minute of your life gone if you fail. The other reason for the order were those small saws in 19 and 20, which simply kill you if you press you jump button 0,2 seconds too early or too late ^^

If you have some other problems with doing this run, let me know, may be i can give you a good advice. I actually think about writing a little guide (but right now i've got no time for it)about the safe way to complete each level.

I decided to switch up my order since the way I planned it out was stupid to say the least.

Some combination of: 7, 8, 9, 1   ->   14 to 20   ->   13   ->   2 to 6   ->   10 to 12

And guess how close I was? I did this order up to Waiting Room and I... DIED.    There's no doubt in my mind that I can do it, but doing these levels over and over again is pissing me off. The way things are going right now, it's just trial and error.

Edit: I feel the need to express what I'm feeling right now. I went through the levels in some random order until I finally managed to bring them down to 2 last levels, Pink... and Waiting Room. And I died on Waiting Room. I have now exploded into an uncontrollable rage, the most I've ever felt in my life. Now I've pretty much lost the will to try and get it again, I need a break from this damn game.

How many time did you need with the practice?

I started to really practice it about 2-3 days ago. I'm only saying in theory that I'll get it, but who knows.

Though I mess up on 7-1x A LOT, so I don't know why I want to do that one near the end...
30  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: No-death achievements! Let's help each other to get them! on: February 19, 2011, 06:40:24 PM
Oi... I'm trying to get Impossible Boy right now...

I've finally made that transition between practice, and the actual run. My order is going to be 7-7x to 7-20x   ->   7-1x to 7-6x.

My best run so far is 7-7x to 7-18x, screwed up on XOXO on the first floor. I estimate I'll have it by tomorrow, but damn is it going to be frustrating.
