Just played through your levels and I really enjoyed them! That boss though, was crazy awesome. I especially liked how the saw crashed through the barrier at the end.  Meat Boy

Keep up the good work.

HELL TO THE FRIGGIN YEAH! Girl Boy is mine!

The funny thing is that I was not expecting to get it at all.

I randomly decided to start with 7-20 because I hated it and managed to no-death it on my first try. So I went to hopscotch and no-deathed it up to 7-19. From there I went to 7-1, just to see how far my run could go seeing as I got some of the tougher levels out of the way. Miraculously I got my way up to 7-12.

At this point, my heart is racing so fast and my hands and arms became so numb, I literally had to calm myself down for 5 minutes before continuing. I didn't feel confident with Pepto, so I skipped to 7-14 and 7-15, both of which I passed.

Now back to Pepto... and to be honest, I had to reset on it several times because I missed that first wall jump as well as just being so damn nervous. At a certain point in the level, I knew the nightmare was over. Reaching Meat Boy felt like winning the lottery.

Final level order:
7-20   ->   7-16 to 7-19   ->   7-1 to 7-12   ->   7-14 to 7-15   ->   7-13

tl;dr

  GET!

Finally claim first for Grape Soda.

It's amazing how much the difficulty increases from Zombie Boy to Girl Boy. The obvious reason being the fact that you can only use "Bandage Girl". Seriously, it's seems so easy in comparison, despite the fact that it's a dark world.

Level 7-7 has gotten much easier for me since I found a method that's more reliable for me. Hopscotch is always going to be a pain, no matter how much I practice it. And I cannot for the life of me no-death 7-20 even once.

My best runs for Girl Boy so far are:
7-1 to 7-10
7-1 to 7-6   ->   7-8 to 7-12
7-8 to 7-15

--Which aren't really impressive anyway.

Well, from what I've been doing so far.  7-7 and 7-18 are a pain in the ass.

7-7 because I have an (ir)rational hatred of fans.
7-18 because it's just plain evil.

If you're going for the hardest stages first, then I'd definitely put those two on the top of the list.

For me, 7-1 to 7-12 are pretty easy. The ones that give me trouble are 13, 16, 17, 19, and 20.

7-17 should be easy, but it messes me up often. 19 and 20 because I hate the small saw jumps.

Though I think I'll do some speed runs instead, for the time being. It's a lot less frustrating.

Niiice, congrats all around to you.

You had so many close calls during this run, I was getting antsy myself. Anyway, you really deserve a lot of credit for doing this. I only used Meat Boy for 8, 9, 19, and 20. All of the rest of the levels were done with The Kid.

I'll be working on Girl Boy now, let's see how far I get.

And congrats on getting Missile Boy using only Meat Boy, Tuen!

What a big relief... I finally succeeded in getting Zombie Boy! I told myself no at first, but after playing through the levels, I decided that I should be able to do it.

You'll have to live with pictures.

Example of invisible part of the half-block:
2-8x Grape Soda

Application:
Preparing to wall jump
First jump
Second jump
Third jump

Comparison:
Run-off
First jump
Second jump

I'll edit this into the OP.

I'm pretty sure the Triple Jump is part of the game. I used it a lot.

There are some levels where the 'triple jump' comes in handy. 4-18 and 5-6 allow you to shave off some time if you utilize the 'triple jump' there.

I'm not sure if you guys read the thread. This isn't the run-off pseudo double-jumping technique. It's different in that it actually gives you three/four real jumps.

You can clearly see the difference in the level 2-12/2-12x using The Kid as an example. Running off the starter platform and double jumping without touching any of the other platforms does not get you far enough to reach the platform with the key.

Using this technique, you can wall jump off the starter plaform's first layer of blocks since the ends are half blocks. This will give you three jumps, and you'll notice that you'll easily be able to clear the entire gap and reach the key. Hell, this could open up some really interesting possibilities with the level editor when it's released.

Missile Boy has been spanking me for 7 hours straight..

3-2x (Salt + Wound):
This stage is reeeeally bad for The Kid, it's designed to be suited for Meat Boy, so I suggest you practice with him. But it sounds like the problem is near the end where the saws are and Meat Boy makes this easy. If it's the first set of saws, jump down in front of them (where the pile and flow of the salt are), do a full jump to the left wall there, then a full wall jump through them. You'll make it. For the second sets of saws, don’t hold run when jumping over.

3-3x (The Red Room):
Trust me on this one when I say that Ogmo is the guy to help you with this stage. His jumps handle very well in this level for jumping through them, more so than The Kid.

3-6x (Not You Again):
You can use Captain Viridian as a guaranteed success for grabbing the first two keys. Then use the conveyor belts to go up the second time. A pretty easy feat for him if you ask me (I used Meat Boy though, lol).

3-8x (Salt Crown):
It’s very easy to get past the first 3 homing missile launchers, so once you get to where the last conveyor belt is (just outside), wall jump off that small bit up onto the platform, but don’t stop running. Wall jump once to get up and onto the higher part. Jump over the missile that will be coming at you from the left, but make a very small hesitation about halfway through because of the other missile launcher. Then you’ll be home free. You should be in constant motion during this.

3-9x (Goliath):
Hop over the first pile of salt and then hop up to the left platform. Do NOT wait for the missile, just make your wall jumps up and you should be fine. You need to do a small wall jump on the smaller wall section (left side) near the top before making your jump to disintegrate the blocks.

3-11x (The Salt Man):
I cannot tell you how easy this level could possibly be. The answer to your problems is Ogmo. His first jump is undeniably perfect for going through those saws. Go ahead and test it, you’ll succeed 100% of the time once you get a feel. I can tell you that I’ve never messed up even once using him.

3-12x (Hellevator):
I suggest Meat Boy, so this will only apply to Meat Boy. Make four jumps up the left wall (includes jumping off the platform), but hold the fourth one as to avoid the missile. Then make three more jumps up that wall, another missile will have been shot. At this point you’ll want to immediately wall jump to the other side, do NOT make another small wall jump before doing this. Once on the other side, make two jumps to avoid the next missile. Hold it, and do another jump before the next missile is shot to avoid death. Let Meat Boy slide down near the saws, then jump to other side, grabbing the key on this jump. Then make your final jumps up to Bandage Girl.

3-14x (Salmon):
Not much advice to be made here. All I can say is to not hold run and do a small jump forward, that’s how I did it.

3-15x (Vertebreaker):
With Captain Viridian, wait half a second, and then proceed to fall up. You should be right underneath the platform where Bandage Girl is. Just make your final jumps carefully since you can easily mess up at this point.

3-20x (Sweet Pea):
I assume it’s that last homing missile that’s giving you trouble. At that point, stand away from the wall and do a full jump so that it shoots a missile out. Immediately afterwards, run out and onto the first platform, jump to the second to grab the key, then back to the closed off area to resume your safety. Then use the same thing for running out and reaching Bandage Girl.

Hope this helps.
42  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Discovery: Triple Jump on: January 23, 2011, 01:55:35 AM
So, while I was messing around in Super Meat Boy, I discovered something epic. A triple jump (No, I don't mean Flywrench).
But before we get too excited, it should be said that it can't be done with every character and can't be done whenever you want to.

How it's performed:

1. "Triple jumping" must be done by wall-jumping off of half blocks.
2. Only works on VERTICAL half blocks.
3. Must be done off the side where the other half of the block would go (You can tell this by jumping onto the block; you should slide on what looks to be like an invisible wall).
4. Merely sliding off the block/wall will not give you a triple jump.
5. You don't need to be on the invisible part of the block to get a triple jump.

There are only four characters that this benefits: Ogmo, The Kid, Josef, and Flywrench.

Both Ogmo and The Kid get triple jumps.
Josef maintains his mid-air jump after the wall jump, as well as being able to use his spin afterwards.
Flywrench gets FOUR jumps. That's right, quadruple jumping.

There really aren't any levels where this would come in handy, but it's just something I thought was neat and wanted to share. Hopefully it doesn't get removed or fixed regardless of this fact, hehe.

Oh, and Ch 2: The Hospital has a lot of half blocks, so you can mess around with this in those stages.

Example of invisible part of the half-block:
2-8x Grape Soda

Application:
Preparing to wall jump
First jump
Second jump
Third jump

Comparison:
Run-off
First jump
Second jump

Zombie Boy is just too... ridiculous. I would probably try, but ultimately fail.
