1  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: No-death achievements! Let's help each other to get them! on: December 30, 2011, 07:51:36 PM
A lot of people are cheating all the achievements to get the Christmas achievement. The bottom 5 (Missile, Demon, Zombie, Girl, Impossible) were at 0.2% and now they're at 0.5%. Tis a sad day.

Yeah, but at least we know that the number was even lower than 0.2% and we can all feel good about our awesome achievements.

I'm just glad to see some life back in this game and these forums.

Edit: Actually, come to think of it... I have an alternate steam account that ended up with a lot of my achievements from this account because I logged in on the same machine. My iron boy achievements didn't unlock though, so it can't be as simple as copying the save file. There must be some other way they've discovered to hack them.

Edit 2: Looks like you can't get either Christmas achievement from the save file either. Good news.

I had a BLAST getting the achievement. I can understand your frustration because it was for the winter achievements, but I've been so bored with all these other easy peasy ones for the other games. Most of them are just a chore. What's the point of even having achievements if they only take 5 minutes to get? The developers already have our money. I wish they were all this challenging.

If anything, I'm mad at the Binding of Isaac achievement. I've put 5 hours into that games since the winter sale and I still can't find that stupid boss because it's completely random. SMB, on the other hand only took me 3 hours and a sore wrist.

Updates are fun.

I still don't get what people are complaining about. There's nothing bad about the editor. Everyone is just complaining because they wanted it to hold their hand so they didn't have to put any effort into learning how to use it.

What exactly is it that the editor doesn't do that you wish it would?
5  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: 03 May - Big update! Rating + Uploads + Music + Editor Tool on: May 09, 2011, 11:12:55 AM
I just read through this thread and now I don't regret taking such a long break from the forum.

I was hoping that the entitled kids would get tired and move on. Turns out they stuck around to complain.

I'll see you guys in another little while when the editor is out of the beta, the portal is fully functional and the whiners have something better to do than complain on the internet.

To everyone complaining about SMW: Do what I did. Just put SMB down until everything is out of beta and officially released. It's not like there isn't enough other awesome crap out there to play right now. I haven't played Meat Boy in at least a month and the urge to play it is coming back strong. By the time the editor is official, the problems will be fixed and the drive will be back.

I mean, if you haven't played through Portal 2 at least twice by now, you're just crazy.

Mortal Kombat isn't half bad either. Now we just need PSN back so I can razor-rang some faces!

8  Super Meat Boy / Level Editor / Re: OFFICIAL EDITOR BETA TESTING THREAD on: April 08, 2011, 08:02:03 AM

Meh, I gotta say I was expecting a lot more...  I'm still gonna be editor man for the next few weeks doing my Meat Boy, Kid and Bandage Girl chapters.  But I didn't expect it to be so bare bones and buggy/unintuitive.  We're gonna need a tutorial thread w/ all this too, because I don't see it explaining things much better by final...

The only "unintuitive" part about it is learning the hotkeys. Once you get used to them, it's much faster than relying on buttons and menus.

Is anyone else having trouble clicking on the menu buttons at the top of the F1 screen? I'm running in fullscreen mode and it keeps trying to minimize my game instead. I suppose I could just run it -windowed, but that's not how I roll.
10  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Super Meat Boy has been updated. on: April 07, 2011, 01:47:03 PM

Yes, Edmund said he was going to keep it hush hush and only made the announcement here in the forum that devmode would activate the editor.
11  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / Re: Linux Port on: April 07, 2011, 08:31:49 AM
There's no information about the Linux port yet and Edmund doesn't actively check this forum. You're better off asking him on twitter.
12  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: The new update and Potato Boy! on: April 04, 2011, 03:52:32 PM
Yeah, right now I can't tell what else was fixed. Still no level saves and replays are still bombing.
13  Super Meat Boy / Level Editing / Re: Are devmode levels too hard? on: April 04, 2011, 11:12:30 AM
The reason that most of the new levels are so hard is because most of the people who couldn't finish the original game were turned off before they even gave devmode a passing thought. The people who stuck around to make levels were the ones looking for more of a challenge.

Once the user-friendly level editor comes out, more of the casual players will return and there will be plenty of easy levels in the portal.

And regarding the "Jumper Returns too hard" comments, you should play the original Jumper and you'll take it all back. Returns was easy mode compared to the real deal.

Which software do you use to do the smileys?

Paint.

I was just playing the remix chapter in super meat world, when on the level burritto boy, I noticed a block is there obstructing the path, making the level unbeatable :(

Yeah, someone else pointed it out Twitter, so they're already aware of it. I hope we get a patch soon.
