1  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / I am very disappointed on: December 30, 2011, 06:12:49 PM
Dear Team Meat,

I've been a fan of this game ever since it was released (bought it in last year's pre-sale) and it became one of my all time favorite games. I achieved over 50 hours and saved myself a place in the Top 1000 player list (probably not as awesome for many people but still an awesome personal achievement for me).

This year's summer achievement was sick. In fact, it was the reason why I came back in the first place after not touching this game for several months. Fun, challenging, you know what I mean.

And now this. At first I obviously thought "Hell yeah, another achievement hunt on SMB!" and instantly got my hopes up. But what I saw when the servers finally got back let my jaw hit the floor:

Out of all the amazing concepts you could've thought of you pick... a remake of the The Kid stage split over 5 stages that we are supposed to finish in one sitting.

... Seriously?

I mean, come on, it's not a secret that everybody hated this stage. Hell, to this day I don't even remember how I did it in the first place. And now you bump out something like this? Just... why?

Just look at all the other Steam sale achievements. They are all meant to be easily achievable, for a damn obvious reason: People should buy the game to get the achievement and get a gift. But how in the godly love of God is a newbie able to do that within only two days when not even most of the experienced players can do it?

One final note for the possible forum trolls: This is not a butthurt post. I'm just expressing my disappointment with this, in my opinion, extremely poor design choice. I know the devs are not forced to fill my butt with free gifts, but this isn't exactly the right direction either.
2  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / Re: "Spend as little time as possible" Achievements on: November 19, 2011, 03:05:06 PM
Oh, the Hospital one was the second one I got, I was trying to get needle boy and blood clot boy, and this popped up out of nowhere after I finished 2-12X Grey Matter.

Ok, either dark worlds are indeed also necessary for these achievements, or this is really, REALLY strange coincidence. I just finished said level again, 2-12x. I didn't even try hard, as my old record there was kinda week (must've been set in the first few weeks of my playtime), but now I got it.

I don't even know what to say, because this is incredibly confusing. Thank you very much! :)
3  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / "Medium Rare" achievement help? on: November 18, 2011, 02:02:24 PM
With the anniversary package info popping up today, I decided to dig out this game again, which I haven't touched since the Summer Camp Sale. I wanted to get some of the new "Spend as little time as possible in X", and so far I got four of them, Forest, Salt Factory, Hell (obviously) and The Rapture. Only the Hospital is missing.

But this is the overall problem, how the hell am I supposed to do that? I A+'ed everything in this game to 106% (literally), broke my own records several times and now come to a total of 147.24 seconds in the Hospital's light world. Unless I'm also forced to squeeze every last centi-second out of the dark world, I just can't get what I'm doing wrong.

Does anyone know?
4  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / I'm a false Golden God on: April 29, 2011, 04:48:11 AM
So, I just recieved the Golden God achievement along with Meat Ninja.
Yet there is something wrong here: I still need to do 4 levels, two dark The End levels and two dark Cotton Alley levels, all the other levels, including the glitch ones, are done.

And my progress seems to be calculated wrong (German, but you get the idea):

Ironically, I had the over 100% total progress issue before getting the Golden God achievement. But just now, reached the 106%, I got it.

Somehow it makes me happy of course, but I don't feel like I deserved this.

I swear, I never cheated/hacked or did anything like that whatsoever. The only thing I could assume is the new Super Meat World counting towards my total progress, even though it should be seperated (it would make sense, because I only did about 4 levels on it so far).
5  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / Re: Ok, who translated this? on: April 19, 2011, 09:06:38 AM
Sorry, both reasons are untrue. I've been using the Steam version ever since and always had Steam set to German.
6  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / Ok, who translated this? on: April 19, 2011, 08:05:00 AM
I haven't been on any computer for about a week, so I missed quite a few things, including the recent updates.

When I decided to play SMB again today, I suddenly noticed something: It was in my language (German)! At first it made me happy, regardless of my English skills (yes, I know it's not perfect, but at least it's decent enough so people can understand me), but then I noticed that some parts are really bad translated. The grammar itself was fine at any given point, but the choice of words to translate was just... bad.
I checked all pages I could, but I didn't find anything language-update releated.

Why am I worried about this? For two reasons:
1) I'd like to know who translated it, a random fan or a real "translation company" (don't know any other words, sorry).
2) That translation really reads like it was put it into Babelfish and copy-past'd right into the game at some points.

Besides that, only like 40% seems to be translated so far, the rest is still in English.

Team Meat, this is in no way supposed to be an attack against you or the person/people who made this translation. I'm just saying you should only include translations when they are 100% finished and when you are sure, it is translated well.

(And one final note, I realise that I'm new here and this is my first post. I hope this won't increase the rage meter by the people who think any critism is a direct attack to the developers, which is not the case.)

Oh and please excuse my lack of using BBCode. I simply don't have a feeling for things which should be highlighted and which not.
