I voted no because I don't play games just because they're based on a franchise. That's moronic. I only play games because they're fun. That's why I play Super Meat Boy instead of Enter the Matrix.

Although I agree with what you're saying, I have to digress that I enjoyed Enter The Matrix at the time. The game itself plus the little hacking mini-game system made a pretty fun experience to mess around with.
Although the more I think about Enter the Matrix, the more I want to replay Max Payne...

I gave up on PC gaming quite a few years back now, just couldn't afford to keep upgrading components every 2 years.

So now I've got a basic level Macbook (inb4applesux), and an X-Box hooked up to a basic surround sound system and one of my old 17 inch monitors. Planning to upgrade the screen to some kind of HD display, around 30 inches or so.

Yea I completely understand. Consoles are basically lil media centers now anyway so...

I however prefer the functionality of a PC. I'm a PC nerd at heart what can I say.

But dude you might be surprised. Costs of decent PC hardware are dropping. The specs I listed wouldn't cost much at all (- the TV).

I know, and I'd probably still be really surprised with what my budget could get now; but it disheartens me to know that I wouldn't be getting the best possible experience with a mid-range set up, and that even if I did invest in a good one, it wouldn't last.

Plus, as much as I loved tinkering and messing with my PC, I really just want to play a game, and consoles are the fastest and easiest way to do that for me.
When I'm not working as much and I've got a bit of money to sling around, I might re-invest. Or probably just when Diablo 3 drops, if they eventually decide against releasing it for consoles.

I used to, made the transition from DOTA, but just don't feel like I have the time to play it anymore.
I'm addicted to the genre like some people are to MMOs, and I feel I can't play it without dedicated way too much time to it.

I'll probably check out DOTA 2 from Valve when it arrives and end up getting sucked back into it all

I like SMB, but I don't hate COD. Why all the hate?

Although I hardly play COD anyway. But it's alright.

I personally don't hate COD specifically I just hate FPS games in general and COD falls into that category.  I do hate what COD stands for in all of its cash cowing 'glory', and I'm pretty sure that's what most people dislike about it. 

Awww man, don't be hatin' on the FPS genre, there's some stellar titles. Bioshock anyone?

A lot of crap seems to happen around Valentine's.

I literally hardly noticed it was Valentine's, and wouldn't have at all if it weren't for cooking the specials where I work.
Everyone just seemed kinda meh over it this year, but maybe that's just me and the people I know
