Forest
+: squirrels, easy
-: boring visuals, too easy

Hospital
+: lasers, purple, blood clots, lasers, relaxing color scheme, nice length of levels, Betus Blues, lasers
-: problematic if you dislike purple

Salt Factory
+: music, strong visual continuity, missile launchers, sliding walls
-: multiple missile launchers pwnage

Hell
+: awesome, portals, lazer eyes
-: demon maws, demon maws, demon maws, lava balls, demon maws, demon maws

Rapture
+: gravity orbs, open spaces, cool backgrounds, maggots, zombies, switches
-: gravity orbs, excess of vanishing walls, flies

The End
+: simple, aesthetically pleasing, pleasantly challenging
-: way, way, way too long

Cotton Alley
+: MUSIC, pink, sense of fulfillment upon completion
-: like getting your head kicked in by steel toed boots over and over, every frustrating mechanic returns on steroids (demon maws, flies, waiting around, gravity orbs, tiny saws, really long levels)

Of course, some people may enjoy dying after 40 seconds of sustained gameplay repeatedly. Kudos to them.
2  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Are you disappointed with Super Meat World? on: April 20, 2011, 10:22:10 AM
Are they planning to implement any records or completion data for the Super Meat World? I find it difficult to play through levels without my achievement being recorded.

Otherwise it's everything one could want.
3  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Looking for people around rank 250 with Steam :-) on: April 15, 2011, 01:50:32 PM
I'm 523 at the moment, but I haven't redone any of the warp zones, which really hurts. My individual level times are more than decent.

I don't want to be "That Guy" who tries to include himself when he clearly isn't qualified, but all of my Steam friends are ranked in the 100,000's, so I need others to compare myself to.

As of 2:39 central, 4/15/2011, I have beaten everything. Rockin' a 629 ranking.
Yeehaw.

7-20 took me the most raw time (2 hours each week for 3 weeks). Skyscraper and The Kid! took a while (4 hours each), but weren't very frustrating; I would just listen to This American Life podcasts while playing and chill. Though the SMB music is truly amazing, it makes the game so much more stressful. I listen to other music while playing SMB, but I listen to SMB while playing other games.
5  Super Meat Boy / Tech Support / Re: Steam: Opening the leaderboards crashes the whole game very often on: March 08, 2011, 09:36:41 PM
About every other time between levels (selected, finished, character switched, etc.), an error occurs, a mini-dump (hehe) is sent, and I have to close the game. I have a snazzy computer and SMB is the only game that crashes like this. How can I fix this, or at least minimize the crashes?

edit: oh. that's what I do.

Of course the match-ups are horribly unfair. Its the old tactic of pitting the expected winners against scrubs in the early rounds and the most likely to win far apart. This allows for the tense rounds at the very end as the best contenders will surely still be in the running. Imagine if [insert 1st choice] was up against [insert 2nd choice] in the first round. It's much more effective to throw the early fights.

That being said, it's only effective at ranking the top few, and completely useless at placing any of the lower tiers. For the record, I prefer SMB to any Blizzard Game Meat Boy
7  Super Meat Boy / Tech Support / No Bandage in 1-5X on: January 27, 2011, 07:41:33 PM
Besides scouring the level, I've watched videos that show where the 1-5X bandage is. However, no bandage is there. I have not previously gotten the bandage, and it shows that I haven't gotten it. I have 19/20 of Ch.1 with 2 in each WZ, 7 in the LW, and 6 in the DW.

I need that bandage...

edit: I feel so, so stupid. It was a little higher than I had thought...
