Chapter created!

My Steam display name is 'courier' and I'm getting a crash whenever I click a level slot in the make chapter tool.  Oddly enough it worked fine before (a month or two ago) but now it's crashy :(

Quick bump for anyone interested to say that the last level (Radio City) is done and I went with only seven levels total.  Also I can't create a chapter now so I guess that's out!  Hopefully that will be fixed in the future though.

I FOUND OUT HOW TO LOAD OGMO'S WARP ZONE. Sadly none of the other characters.
Read edit on this post for more details: http://supermeatboy.com/forum/index.php/topic,1968.msg26210.html#msg26210

Looking through the gamedata.dat file it seems to have the paths of all the levels in there.  Try jill1-1, jill1-2 etc.  Also I think the internets levels are in here, i1-1 etc.  Not sure though since I've never seen them.

Also weirdly you can load boss levels (boss1, boss2 etc) but you can't edit or test them.  Neat!

Hey guys, for those following along I finished up level six today and it's up on SMW.  Enjoy and let me know what you think if you play it!  It's called 'Abandoned Sawblade Factory'.

Maybe split it into different parts?

You read my mind :)

The first three are uploaded!  More later.

And level two is featured in Super Meat World  Meat Boy

And the fourth and fifth levels are up.  Gonna hold off on #8 because I'm not happy with it and I think it's too long.

Did you upload them yet? I'm looking forward to playing them. They look like they have a good amount of challengingness (Oh look, I just made up a word!), and really detailed.
Can't wait to play them :)

Not yet, and I am currently at work so I won't be able to do so for a couple of hours (unless the Mac version and Steam Cloud support suddenly comes out before I head home) but I will make a post here when I do.  Thanks for the interest, guys!

Oh sorry they're not up on SMW yet!  I guess I can upload them if people are interested though!  Yes, I would classify them as medium-ish difficulty I would say.  It's hard to make things that are too difficult when you use Tofu Boy.
10  Super Meat Boy / Level Showcase / [chapter] The Power of Soy (in progress, 7/7) on: June 17, 2011, 12:57:03 AM
I went with seven levels since making Tofu Boy levels isn't super fun and kind of limiting.  They're all up now, though I can't create a chapter so I guess you will have to pretend.  Maybe some day!

Hey guys!

For fun and I guess partially morbid curiosity I decided to make a Tofu Boy chapter.  It's currently in progress with six of the planned eight levels done.  I wasn't going to post until it was done but I'm curious how interested people might be since Tofu Boy isn't exactly the most fun character to play as (though he becomes a lot better with levels built specifically for him).

(this is only a small part of the level, which is pretty big)

For those curious: the forced slowness of Tofu Boy actually makes for some interesting stuff because he can end up being more precise and way less slippery than faster guys.  It's also fun to do stuff that brings attention to how slow he is and make the player (hopefully in a fun way) escape stuff that isn't really moving all that fast.  You also have to rethink many jumps that would be simple with any other character though he can climb pretty well as long as it's between two walls.  It's possible to get him to scale a single wall but it's tedious.

Also I don't recommend trying to make Tofu Boy levels yourself if you enjoy any level of skill when you play normal levels.  I've been playing almost exclusively as him for a couple of weeks while I have worked on these and I am pretty sure I have gotten worse based on how much I fail when I play SMW levels.
11  Super Meat Boy / Help! / Re: How to make alternating firing saw blades. on: June 09, 2011, 10:51:42 AM
You have to set the initial delay value on one of them (and all the rest of the properties the same).  The initial delay value doesn't use seconds though (I guess it uses game tics?  not sure, maybe someone can clarify) so you have to set it to something fairly high, like 128.  Play with that value until you get the desired effect.
12  Super Meat Boy / Help! / Re: Tofu Boy Doesn't Work? on: May 13, 2011, 12:25:19 AM
I had that issue with chapter crashing as well.  It was fairly random but what ended up working was putting the levels in slots 15 - 20 (they still showed up as 1-5 after it was uploaded).
13  Super Meat Boy / Level Showcase / Re: [chapter] Brownie Goes To Hell on: May 13, 2011, 12:23:34 AM
Played these, and I like how you incorporated pretty precise jumps and timing, very well done.  Complaint would be the "path" isn't very clear and the levels aren't easy so it leaves little room for exploration...especially on Precarious.  And the use of ramps and slanted tiles really doesn't mess well w/ the difficulty, and it makes them more of a hassle than need be.

But anyway, great stuff and hope to see more from you.

Thanks!  I will probably be keeping slanted tiles to a minimum in the future since I totally agree with what you said and mainly used them because they looked nicer.

I added three of them, I forget the other two right now because I named them when it was really late but I'll try and add them later.  Is there a problem being able to play all five?  I tried last night and it seemed okay though it took a while to create the chapter without the editor crashing but they all seemed to be there.  I also accidentally uploaded the chapter twice :(

My first effort, tell me what you think.  I don't think the levels are too difficult but hopefully they are fun!
