N+ is a good way of relating what things could be like. The PSP version wasn't so bad (minus ungodly loading times), but the 360 version was WAY better.

Of this, we don't necessarily NEED one that's a little worse off. I'd rather seem 'em work on their new game, or fix the one for 360 (HINT HINT TEAM MEAT).

It would have to be for the Vita, as there are too many PSP hackers as it is. Team Meat would gain pretty much nothing on it, minus the hard core fans who buy everything with a meaty face on it, and the 9 year old who doesn't know what a hacked PSP is.

I'm a sniper user, as I've always been good at sniping type stuff in FPS's.

A lot of people like to focus on Bloodwing (his action skill, which is a hawk), but I hate the little bastard. If there is a 2 foot tall barrier between you and an enemy, Durp (nickname my friend and I gave him) won't see him, make an exact 90 degree angle, fly up, then 90 degree angle again, then just freak the hell out in the air from what I'm assuming is stupidity.

Quote wise, Moxxi had some okay stuff, but Scooter was the best.

THIS IS WHERE CARS LIVE! GEH'CHOO ONE!

Of course, who doesn't like watching a clap-trap once it's active and pissed at whatever deactivated it as well.

Mega Man Zero 1 was more hardcore in that respect, it' laughed at you and felt proud to do it. lol

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. Sonic 3 was an incomplete game, and it felt like it. Sonic 2 at least had an implied story (kinda) in that you had a pretty damn good feeling the end was near. Sonic 3 just ended at Launch Base, and it was silly. S&K was better as a stand alone cart, but even then, meh.

All 3 had over 2 was different shields. The bosses were about as creative, the levels have always been the same (more or less), but the emerald stages were WAY less challenging in 3 (even the super emeralds in S3&K), the levels weren't ass kickers, and the final boss (and really every other boss) was just a complete joke.

hardcore
sonic generations

me loling

So what exactly DEFINES a hard-core platformer then? Death count? Speed? Complexity? What?

Let's also not forget Sonic Generations.

I found a fan made 2.5D adaptation to Sonic 2, and asked myself: "Why would Sega let just some guy show them up? This looks better than Sonic 4 did."

Well, this is going to be one hell of a Sonic game from the looks of it (2.5D version of Sonic 1, and a "Day Stage" mode to go along with it. Day stage meaning Sonic Unleashed day stages).

My god am I glad to finally see someone else bitch about Rayman 2 being a pile of crap.

Ray-Man was delicious.

Gex was delicious (only the first one, rest were lame as crap).

Mega Man X4 is still my favorite platformer of all time, just for speed running (go play with Zero, do a no death run, have fun).
9  General Stuff / Video Games! / Re: Sonc 3 on: May 22, 2011, 02:47:52 PM
Sonic 3 by itself was worse than Sonic 2. Sonic 2 was more fun in that it focused more on speeding through levels (which is what Sonic is about). Now, if you have the COMPLETE game (S3&K), THAT is much better than any Sonic game released to date. The only competitors to it are the day stages of Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic Advance 2. Otherwise, it's too much about exploring, and not about level completion.

Regardless, I think it'd be an interesting thought to announce on Steam as an update or what have you "VOTE ON RESETTING THE TIMES FOR LULZ AND ACCURACY", but eh. I think I'll do it out of my own curiosity and to partially contribute to this forum like I used to on Helix. lol

Well, I'm glad you took the time to post in here Ed, thanks! n.n

I'm very glad to see that you're still paying attention, I just didn't see it enough.

I'm not going to say you guys are 100% to blame on it, as Microsoft did kind of dick you guys around, but I never see (and I look on twitter) what bugs you're fixing, or what have you. Also, cast a vote on that whole "0 times" bit, curiosity begs to see just how many of the forumers would prefer it. =/

OK, things do need to change. All one has to do is look at Matt Thorson (he made Jumper <Ogmo>, which this game is loosely "based" off of). He created the Jumper series, An Untitled Story, and varying others (and worked on Runman: Race Around the World). He never charged for any of his games, and he did them mostly by himself. I've NEVER seen someone so devoted to making sure his fans are pleased in terms of keeping up with any bugs and/or features, especially when he charges nothing.

And where is he now may I ask? Still making no money. Why actually charging for your work is seen as such a crime is beyond me. Is this North Korea? Would you work 9-5 for free or based soley on tips or praise then accept condemnation for charging the going rate? If he could effectively monetise his work, I'm sure he'd jump at it.

Fuck pleasing 'fans' who expect the world on a stick solely in return for their fickle appreciation, like that puts food on the table. If you appreciate something you should pay for it, and as I said before, in terms of cost to audience use, the level editor and portal should probably have cost you all in the region of $100 each, so stop complaining about tiny imperfections and be bloody grateful.

Complete entitlement. You should never hold anyone to a standard you yourself would never live up to, and I can't imagine anyone here would work for free for 6 months.

I'm not saying he shouldn't charge money, though YMM does have a deal with Adult Swim currently. My point is that I find it silly that someone who doesn't charge money puts more work into his GAMES (not singular, like Team Meat) than TM does when they DO charge money. Prime example: Look at AUS (An Untitled Story) and Jumper 2. He released an editor, and (at least when I was big into his stuff in high school) a dedicated fan base, who DID donate to him. That was the best part, we helped him for being awesome. Now that we have put money into this project, I'd like to see better service with it. It's not like I'm not going to play the game at this point, the money has been paid, and I have the product, and I've enjoyed what I've played thus far. I just feel that they need to put more testing into their product, and FIX IT'S PROBLEMS.

Sure, I'm a speed runner, call that whatever you want, but I am another customer. Taking this into example: I'm also a Rock Band player. I buy songs from the Rock Band Network, and pay attention to what team created the chart. There are a couple users who I will buy everything from, regardless of if I like it 100%, because they make amazing accurate and fun charts. It's a dedicated fan-base. People don't pay attention as much to the good things about something when it comes to word of mouth, unless it's un-fucking-believable, they instead pay attention to the bad. Considering that TM isn't pulling their weight in that respect (I do enjoy that they release so many off items, like the comic, plushies, and OST, aside from hosting the server themselves), it's not going well.

I'm not asking for the many new features that people want, and I do understand what they have gone through. I fix computers, and set up networks (and the like), and if I fix someones computer, and something goes bad with it, I don't say "oh well lol", I go back and I make sure that I'm going to be the person they call when things go bad again. The same principle should be applied here, THAT'S all I'm saying.

For that, I donated money to him, he earned it. Now, we have paid, why come TM (TWO people) can't be anywhere near as awesome? Unfortunately, file pirates (not one of them in this case) have no reason to pay for the game, not when it's glitchy still.

Does re-downloading the game solve anything, or is that just a waste of time?
15  Super Meat Boy / Tech Support / Re: Teh internets not working. on: April 27, 2011, 12:57:37 PM
This is not just a problem with you, it happens to me too.

I got all pumped when I saw that, then my game froze twice, and I about cried (Jumper Returns is really the only of the 3 I care about, being an OLD Jumper fan).
