16  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / Re: Leaderboard weirdness on: April 10, 2011, 05:04:57 PM
Short answer:

The replay time will often be weird or off. I just rewatched one of mine. The first watch, it showed 29.90, the second time 30.23 and the third time 30.35. So yeah, it's somewhat random. Just don't rely on them, rely on your leaderboards score.
I think the map screen rounds them differently, but at least it's usually closer to the 'real' time than the replay time.

The reason this happens? Lag. The replays may show signs of speeding up the actions or slowing them down. Once the replay is fully processed it may show the right time.

Found a cool bug:
It is possible to reverse the controls by setting the camera zoom to a peculiar number...

please be telling me so I can make it for my TROLOLOLOL chapter

Here's my short tutorial to creating a "Reverse" level.

  • Select the "Camera" tab.
  • Right click on the red square where the starting point is located.
  • Press F5.
  • Set the "Camera Zoom" to a positive number (Preferrably 500).
  • And behold, your new peculiar mirror-image world! May I suggest the title for this particular level to be something along the lines of "Muscle Memory" or the like? Meat Boy

I'll be sure to make this in my TROLOLOLOLOL chapter.

Put the saws on layer 3 and have blocks over them on layer 2?

I'll test this. It would work on layer 4 then 2 as well.
I think you go through saws in layer 3.
Layer 4 DEFINITELY works. Just tested it in my new level.

>Not playing the chapter.

Am I, like, the only person who loves playing levels with demon maws?

You're not alone in that regard. In fact, I might be the only person on the entire planet who actually liked playing Patience.

I loved the levels in Starlight with the demon maws in particular, especially Domino. <3

Patience was fun :D

Why not put spikes on layer 3 and the other hazards on 4 and 5?

Fore Tile General fucks with the active tile ALOT.

Why not put the water on layer 3 and have it go over everything? Then put the saws on layer 5 with normal colors.

That is, with transparent water.

That completely screws with my waterfalls.
Yeah that's what I thought. Unless I have an idea of how the level works, I can't really help...

The level works like this (lol)

Don't touch water, waterfalls, blue fire, blue lazors, saws, blue demons, blue fireballs, saws, water, water, water, waterfalls, blue fire and blue demons.

I do have a temporary solution that i'm using until someone comes up with something GRAND.
