I recently got my 100th momkill, but the stats say 10 momkills, is this a bug?

Yeah, I'm surprised they still havent fixed this. A while ago I got my 110th mom kill, and I noticed it didnt go double digits, leaving it at 11, so I restarted my save. Now I'm back to 170 mom kills, and it's still not fixed! Hopefully this will be a fix that comes along with Wrath of the Lamb, or possibly before then.

I agree with that only a tiny bit. I guess you could said Tommy should've known better than to assume someone wouldn't fuck with the server for no reason. still makes them assholes.

Programming experience doesn't have any relevance here. (I mean as in to tell whether this is right or wrong.) If the server held credit card info, I'd understand completely and agree with most of you, but the server was just for user made levels and that's all it had on it. The point is that Tommy didn't make it more secure from the very beginning because he would think there would be no reason to, considering theres no important information on it. If it actually did, it obviously would be much more secure. Honestly, the whole incident is very pathetic and embarrasing. (on the hackers parts.)

He couldn't do anything about it. He only started being rude after people were fucking with things. And it's really stupid to say that he "launched a flawed product" with super meat boy, because SMW was created after demand from the fans. It's suprising and really cool that he even went through that effort to create SMW when he wouldn't be benefiting from it in any way. I don't understand how anyone can complain about something that was fucking free.

I think theres a moral to this story: I believe most people, still, are angry at team meat for this incident. This really doesn't make sense. I think anyone else would be angry (probably a lot more) if a bunch of other people we're fucking with a database you created while you couldn't do anything about it. If people are mad because SMW was shutdown, they should be mad at the people who opened the database, and not team meat. The moral is that it seems like most people will mindlessly jumped on the hatewagon without giving and thought or consideration to what they might be doing, which is honestly, a really terrible thing.

I hate to be bumping this old thread, but I just wanted to add this: http://www.formspring.me/Tommunism/q/291081586479215147

This is Tommy's answer as to what happened. I honestly would think this would change anyone's opinion who thought hacking into the server was "helping" team meat. Think about it logically; It was unnecessary and destructive. I think for the most part, this was just done for the entertainment for the people at facepunch who can't find better ways to have fun other than ruining great things at every chance they have.

I'm not demanding that anyone changes what they think, just giving a final input on this.

First off thanks for your review :)

Though I'm afraid I don't understand the definition of "bland", I mean I found the word on the dictionnary alright but I don't get it, would you mind elaborating ?

That's a good grad for a "first draw" I imagine.
I think you're right, I shouldn't modify the levels now, but more learn from what I did wrong. You said there were room for improvement, could you tell in which areas ?

Lastly, how would you rate the difficulty overall ? I have to admit I bought a joypad just for SMB so let's face it, I suck at this game, it took me like 4 hours just to finish my own levels... Was it too hard / too easy ? What do you think about the dificulty curve ?

I know that's a lot of questions, I don't mean to annoy you, just to improve :p

By "bland", I meant that the chapter wasn't that visually glamorous. As in, it seemed that the background layer for tiles (layer 6) was not used most of the time, and besides the front tiles, (which I think you did a good job on), there wasn't that much decoration. (with the props and such.) It certainly didn't look bad. I thought the look was actually really cool and unique. It's definitely good for a first attempt.

It should never take you a long time to beat your own levels. It's okay to have them be hard, but it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Make sure you're not just taking an idea from the real game and making it into one of your own levels, or even worse, take the level itself and remix it. (If you do this, make sure you call the chapter "level remix" or something, and don't label it as your own.) Always attempt to make your levels fun to play, and if possible, original. The places you should improve on is everything I've already mentioned.

I'd say the difficulty goes from light world Rapture to dark world Cotton Alley. I think the difficulty ramped pretty steadily throughout the chapter. In my opinion, I think this is a little too hard for the general public, but it's really up to you how hard you want to make them.

Hope this helped,  [;)]

I just finished playing the levels. This is what I thought:

I thought the design of how the levels looked was unique, but also a bit bland.

As for the levels: some of them had a new layout and design that hasn't been seen before, but some of them also were very much alike the ones in the game.

I know that was a really brief review, but it was my basic thoughts about the chapter. Overall, I would say it's a 7/10. It's good/alright, but it could use some improvements. I'm not saying you should actually improve the levels, I'd rather you make some different ones, and just leave this chapter as it is. I don't know, it's up to you.

Lastly, I'd like to thank you for putting in the effort and time to even make a chapter, considering the portal is down. It was fun to play.  Meat Boy

I just found what's possibly an easter egg:

On the bottom of the Pact, a signature (Ed's "E") can be seen.

Sorry if everyone already knows about this, but I just noticed it while browsing through the collection.

oh yeah? 900 hours in SMB, 300 in Isaac.

And when WotL does come out, I'll probably rack to up to something like 700 in Isaac. It'll be cool times, I tell you waht.
27  Super Meat Boy / Level Showcase / Re: Chapter: Unholy Mountain *RELEASED* on: January 27, 2012, 04:23:41 PM
The reason I upped the quake values at the later levels is because I couldn't give a proper feeling of sound. I wanted to really make it feel like the mountain was falling apart... looking back on it, it was probably a poor decision. Actually, I could've put in some sounds in the final level. Oh well.

If there was a way to edit your levels after you released them, it would probably be a lot different than it is now.

To get the levels into the level library, you need to upload them. But since uploading (at the moment) is disabled, I'm not sure if it's actually possible to make a chapter. You'll need to talk to Team Meat about it, and tell them to renable the uploading feature.
29  Super Meat Boy / Level Showcase / Re: [New Chapter] Anyone for testing? on: January 21, 2012, 12:52:32 PM
Care to tell us how the chapter production is going? I can't wait to play/test it.  Meat Boy

The DLC is totally going to blow our minds.

That being said, I can definitely not wait for it.
