It almost makes the steam version obsolete, best of the best and leaderboards = win?

yeah, especially since the uploading feature is disabled on SMW. the pc version is basically the shit version now.

This is what really makes me wish I was around before the level editor was out. Seems like devmode levels are the only ones that get any attention on xbox.

I was kinda hoping that one of my chapters would go up. But, knowing Team Meat, that'll either never happen, or take 6 more months. I was thinking that my many hours in the level editor would pay off. It didn't.

Wat... those are the only new ones going up...? I thought they were already on...(not to mention if they werent, they're incredibly old and should've been up there a while ago) Theres still tons of chapters that could be added. (Not that it matters to me, I have the pc version. I was just... just... nevermind.  )

I actually really liked the design of yellow-jacket, I just thought there could be less saws. And yeah, the platforming is very flexible. One of the things I liked the most about this chapter are all the jumps that seem like they aren't possible, but are actually quite easy (for some.)

Oh yeah, please make them a little bit easier. I like the challenge, but the levels like Yellow-jacket was way too painful for me; I couldn't even do the first part.

I would suggest using a difficulty ranging from salt factory dark world to cotton alley lightworld.

I just figured out why I couldn't load your levels before. Also just tried them out, and I can definitely say these are some of the best SMB levels I've ever played.  Meat Boy

Actually, you can pass into Sheol even if you havent beaten it 10 times, either by going into the devil room after killing moms heart, or using the shovel.

Thanks! But I don't quite remember a part in the chapter that has that "Omega key jump."  I think I know what you're talking about though; it's the one where you have to go on the lift and get the key then come back. There are many different ways to go about that map, so I wouldn't quite so I "copied it exactly", especially since I wasn't thinking about the Omega jump.

Anyhow, I'd kinda like to emphasize that this chapter was all around the theme. It wasn't really the gameplay, but more about how it felt and being aware that you're from some place that isnt from the original game. Unfortunately, I don't think this was conveyed very well, and that should be pretty understandable, since you only have a choice from tilesets that are very limited in content. If there was a universal tileset, it might actually make level creating a little more interesting, and give creators more of a choice in what their world can look.

Most of the chapter was a little too easy... we're talking Light World Forest difficulty, and if it wasn't for the later levels that take place in Hell, my interest in the chapter wouldn't have stayed. Some really clever sections in the levels, such as the parts with the flying rocks and the later levels have a good "The End" vibe to them, which I like. Even though none of the later levels have any hard sections, the levels are rendered hard due to their length, which is a good tradeoff.

Your levels look great in overall and I'll say this is a chapter worth playing. Well done!

Thank you very much! It's really awesome to hear that someone whose chapter I liked a lot tried one of my own, and even gave it good feedback!

As for the difficulty, I wanted to have the player glided somewhat through most of the chapter.
The first few levels were really easy, but I tried to make sure that the difficulty gradually ramped up, instead of after a few levels, the chapter instantly being hard and staying that difficulty for the rest of the chapter. Another bonus to it be easy is that it's subtable for all skill levels!  Meat Boy

Anyhow, I really appreciate that you (and anyone else) tried my chapter. Meat Boy

Free xbox live codes for SMB were handed out yesterday, but I felt bad if I were to take one of them, considering I already have a copy of the game. Cmon, ed, have it go on sale!
43  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Super Meat World has been hacked... on: December 24, 2011, 06:03:01 PM
This is what actually happened:

Q: "How do you reconcile laughing off the database issue as "fine" and refusing offers of help on twitter with being butthurt that there really was an issue on formspring?
"

Ed: "im not sure what youre talking about, i have no idea what the database stuff really is, i dont program, and when i woke up i only heard about what happened through random tweets.

from what i saw though tommy never refused offers because this was something he was going to fix, he just told people it was fine and to leave it alone so he didnt have to worry about fixing it while he was away for xmas. but instead of leaving it alone people somehow took it as a refusal and decided to try to break things.

either way everything is always backed up and tommy rolled everything back to a previous state before i even woke up that day... i honestly dont understand what the big deal is. seems like jerks just wanted to be jerks, but in the end all that happened was both of us lost faith in people."

you should all feel pretty assholish for what you guys did. >_>

Moral of this story: Make sure there are no glitches in your game, otherwise people will use them to fuck around with the game to prove a point.

Would it have actually been better if they overreacted and raged?

Are you like, defending Team Meat? What you say its stupid. Its not about how they acted calm, is that they didnt care at all and made a system with a very low security.

Seriously, SMB is awesome, but has a lot of negative stuff.

No, I'm not trying to defend them, but I'm just saying you guys may be overreacting to what isnt a very big deal. Apparently the people who hacked into the server were able to change the name of the levels, and where they're put, but they couldn't delete anything. Also, its pretty evident that Tommy was already aware of this security problem, he just doesn't think its worth spending his time on. I don't agree with this how he's doing this, but I'm not going to get angry at them.
