If you played for more than 50 hours it doesn't really matter anymore if you play with a keyboard or a gamepad.
You can play good with both.

I guess I'm a rare minority then, I've got a whooping 400+ hours and I can't wrap my brain around the keyboard controls (even when I tried remapping the keys).  I guess it's just the rapid left and rights I can't get used too...

Just took my SMB Xbox online and ran through the light/dark world (except Cotton Alley which I'll get around to).  Rank is at #411 gamertag "FeistiestFlunky" (Franz is in the ~300's, so I guess I'm top 100 legit).  And Franz, check your 5-7 time!  Took me a few tries to beat my Steam score there. 

Also just tried out Exo's 4-4 strat, what a pain in the ass.  I ended up with a 6.81 score (Franz can confirm), I just can't seem to get lucky with the upward wall slide at the end.  Doing that again on PC will be a serious bitch, then I've got to do the same on 4-4x.

Multiple times? I thought he was insane when he iron boy'd all 20 levels--in order!

Nah I did it only twice, first time for achievement, second for video recording ;)

Anyway the coolest thing about your Iron Man's is you did with a keyboard.  Even using my mechanical keyboard (Razer) I just fumble through the forest, I am terrible with a keyboard.  Mad respect for that.

Yes, TunnelingEffect, in my opinion, he's the best player on Xbox, and he's even the best SMB player, briefly.
That's only part of what he achieved. On the 160 Teh Internet levels, he's at 1333 seconds currently and that's INCREDIBLE. He managed to score a near perfect time on almost all of the 100 first levels and did a very good job (in no time...) on the 3 last chapters as well.
He broke my time on Compulsion (Remnants), Puberty (Expert Remix), Doppelgänger (Expert R.), Ping (Expet R.), Speck (Expert R.), etc., on every level i like. I'm still number 2 and 40 or 50 seconds ahead of Yozima, but that Guy, Telesniper, is just made of something else. Very humble player too, part of his charm ;-)

Is his gamertag just "telesniper"?  I tried to add that and it just said his friend list was full.

Anyway I wish there was a way to merge the XBLA players with the Steam players into one leaderboard so we can get some real comparisons.  A char based leaderboard would also give this game even more replay value.

And nah, I don't think it would be that great playing it on 3DS.  I'd rather a Wii U version if anything.

^Same here!  The bandage girl save icon is and always will be the sweetest reward in this game.  Anybody ever get the icon and only shave off a ~.001 so it's essentially the same time, talk about a letdown.

Or maybe we're just niche speedrun freaks...

I was two levels away from clearing all 20 Dark Cotton levels on 360, this is ridiculous.  I figure I'll just give it a shot on PC and see what happens.  But if I don't get anywhere close within 3 hours I'll probably put this is hold for a while.



About 4 straight hours give or take but I finally did it!!!  I gave up completely at one point but decided it's now or never.  Have no idea of the final order I switched them around so much, but Going Up/Organ Grinder/Brag Rights were always first.  This one required 3x 2mg Xanax to complete, so I'm still sort of half out of it.  

I will never do this again, hardest achievement I've ever got by far.  My feeling right now would be numbness, and my hands hurt pretty bad.  Bullex is insane to do this multiple times...  That is all.

^Expect 7-19x to take you about 20-50 times to complete it first time.  And let go of the run button at the top.

So I practiced a bit of Cotton Alley Dark a bit yesterday morning, and I'll do it again today.  So far I need to find repeatable ways to beat Going Up and They Bite.

^I would go for Dark Hell or Dark Factory next, that's what I did anyway.

@Genesis:  Good job on 3-20, I love that level too.  I'll see if I can beat that a bit later.

I did this on my laptop, so if I tried running FRAPS the framerate would be horrible and I would probably give up if I had to deal with that.  I'll try running it in ultralowdetail to see if it's any better with FRAPS.

Still in a Xanax haze, but yes after two hours of failure it is mine!  Practiced a lot on 360 before this which made it easier but this was hands down the hardest achievement yet.  My recommendation: use THE KID.  I tried to use Tim but I'm just not used to his handling and the rewind didn't save me from the zombies every time, and I don't use him well.  So I stuck to Meat Boy and the Kid only.  Using the Kid can eliminate some frustration on the gravity pulses too.  And 5-6x and 5-13x proved to be my biggest issues.

From memory my order was:

5-3x - Kid
5-4x - Kid
5-13x - Kid
5-6x - Kid
5-17x - Meat Boy
5-7x - Kid
