Hello.
I have encountered a problem in which I am unable to use my escape key while playing SMB.  This means that I cannot pause the game, and I cannot go "back" from any menus. 
And, no, my escape key is not broken: I have tested it and the only place it doesn't work is in SMB.

While this doesn't make the game unplayable, it is very irritating.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I have discovered the source of the problem and fixed it, please disregard this post.
