73L, awesome runs.
I am completely boggled that you beat my 1-7 time.  I think I know how, but I don't think I'll ever get that nearly frame perfect wall climb again.

Anyways, if you want me to encode any replays for you I'd be happy to do so.  You mentioned you had some slowdown issues.  I can record in HD and send you the encoded/compressed files so you can upload and do whatever with them.  You can splice/add audio without re-compressing as well.

Zed, you are wasting way too much time switching characters to get only 1 guy on your replay or to keep your death count low.

Heh.
Its faster than dying in a lot of levels, and its easier for me to be consistent from switch character since I control that exactly.  (and I can fly through the menu in about 1/3 of a second now, which is about as fast as the death animation anyways :) ).

Also, I may or may not try to contribute to an IL table on sda eventually, which seems like it will at least require that due to a lot of the bugs/oddities surrounding restarting from death.
I record live, so replays aren't that important to me (although I do save them).

Have anyone really tried to get a good time on 4-3 or 4-3x?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqN811zT6iA

There still a good .1 or .2 seconds at least (if not more) that could be knocked off using this exact route.  More if you can get multiple superdashes in the middle climb (I get none).

4-3x could be improved using the same change to the start.  However, its pretty hard to replicate what you did and have the dash that takes you out of the middle column take you all the way to the upper corner, which is where I keep losing time.  Props to that.

Its also possible to go up the left side of the middle.  With good positioning and a superdash, you can fly right between the saw and the lava, which means it should be possible to get nearly the same time as on 4-3, except for the normal wall jump you need to get under the saw at the top.

Also, I'm going to stop writing stuff like "fastest time" in video descriptions since like as not, they're only going to stand for at most a week and going back and editing video descriptions is a pain.

I guess I'll also post my second one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AFiy5Fpj-Y

Contains 5-1X, 5-2X, 5-3X (Runman), 5-6, 5-6X, 5-7, 5-7X, 5-11X, 5-12X, 5-13, 5-13X, 5-16X and 5-17 (Runman). I thought I'd make a third compilation with all the random stages I've done in chapters 1-3 and the heavily improved Hell runs, and then my own topic with all the single stages indexed, but I'm not sure when I'll actually get around to do it so might as well just leave this one here.

Very nice.

Its surprising that your 5-12x is faster despite not superdashing at the start, which is a ton faster than normal jumping into a turnaround.  Looks like its a cleaner landing on the key platform and that extra dash in the middle (which I always thought would be slower).
I like your 5-6 route improvement, subtle :).

My current Hell times are abysmal, aside from 4-5x and 4-18x.  I'm either going to focus there, or start looking at Rapture, which I've barely even touched at all in terms of speedrunning.

Edit:
Updated OP with videos in the thread.

Created a new compilation video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95kVv0Ob6Dk

Not really anything new in there, but grouping a bunch of the previous individual level runs so I could have a compilation video that wasn't completely embarrassing like the Hell ones are now.

3-16 would have beaten AlwaysSleepyGuy's 1st place time, but I flubbed that last dash and slowed down a lot.

I have no idea how the 1st place on Boomtown is 2.90 seconds, unless its possible to land right in the lower corridor and superdash up without hitting the edge before bandage girl, or manage a turnaround that goes through the corridor to the other side and dash to bandage girl, again clearing the edge cleanly.

Hospital is starting to become kind of comfy :)

2-19 Six Feet 3.85
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysoCmMo_Ml0

2-20 Day Breaker 5.07
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgF2G1chrKY
This one had a weird wall climb.

2-8 The Sabbath 6.88
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYnErE5Qwgg
Fastest time on this one was a 6.86, but this is one of those levels that you have to wait for an obstacle to move out of the way, which is annoying.

Nice runs :)

I agree, chapter 4 is literally Naija's playground.

That's clearly a glitched time.  In cases like that its pretty obvious.

To contribute:
1-11x Doused 2.19  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6abRJ3jb0EU
2-16x P.S.Y 5.03  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn5OtKWdsts
4-5x Wicked One 3.87  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ci6c1LNwh4
5-6 Left Behind 4.19  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQdEuzVqC2o

All with Naija.

Haven't had that much time, but got in a few runs and improvements.

2-16x P.S.Y 5.03
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn5OtKWdsts

1-11x Doused 2.19
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6abRJ3jb0EU

4-5x Wicked One 3.87
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ci6c1LNwh4
This one surprised me.  Managed to squeeze out a third dash with a better landing position, which totally wrecks my previous time.

5-6 Left Behind 4.19
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQdEuzVqC2o
This was kind of just a micro improvement and not that interesting.

As for re-factoring the OP, it looks like there is another thread now which is a better catchall for being a time/video repository, which is good because I'm actually super lazy.

Just be really fast at double tapping.

Its easier on keyboard keys (or I imagine an arcade stick), than on pad buttons.
10  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Worst Character? on: February 27, 2011, 08:31:20 AM
Josef has a superjump that lets him jump extremely high (more than half the vertical height of 1-17).  If you tap a wall, you can do it again immediately.

This is still outclassed by Naija or Viridian in most levels, but it is pretty versatile.
11  Super Meat Boy / Meat Helping / Re: Naija Tips/Guides? on: February 24, 2011, 06:42:15 PM
The above will last you a long time :)

You may notice that sometimes that your dash trajectory will be way different than normal.

If you're looking to super optimize times, another technique is the superdash (this is what I call it, it doesn't really have a name).
This is the same as a normal dash from the ground or the wall.  However, if you release dash 1 frame (maybe 2 frames) after leaving the ground or a wall you will trigger a "superdash"
Basically the normal dash, but with much higher vertical velocity.  This speeds up anything involving climbing and opens up a lot of new routes, especially when combined with various turnaround shenanigans.

This is actually not that hard to pull off once on demand.  Doing it multiple times very quickly, or between other normal dashes is extremely difficult though.
Its already necessary for top times on many levels, but this is still probably the largest source of untapped potential for Naija speedruns.

Something like a TAS could probably improve top Naija times on a lot of levels often by more than a second.

Nice!

It looks like I should make this a general Naija speedrun / video thread and start adding other peoples videos to the OP.  I'll do that a bit later today when I have some more time.
13  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Naija Speedruns on: February 23, 2011, 06:06:50 PM
Haha, nice.  I definitely welcome the challenge.  Hopefully new strats come out of it instead of just micro-improvements, but either way competition can only mean faster times overall.

Unlike the meatboy times for the end or cotton alley, I still feel the majority of Naija times are not hyper-optimized relative to the fastest possible times so it should be fun to push those boundaries more.

I'm gonna send you a Friend Request. I like to compare with other legit Naijas.

Most of my times except for the ones I have videos of are still really bad, haha.
I'll get around to all of them eventually though :)
15  Super Meat Boy / Meat Talk / Re: Naija Speedruns on: February 22, 2011, 08:03:47 AM
Awesomeness.  Thanks for uploading those.

Some of those are going to be hard to beat.  This will be fun :)

I like the 3-4x run since I really hate dealing with the conveyors.
I was about to make a run with the exact same route on 3-16x, heh.

The Hell levels blow mine out of the water, great stuff.
