just don't try to alt-tab or minimize it.

That's unacceptable. Besides, in addition to this, it crashes sometimes when looking at leaderboards and loading levels.

My 360 RRODed while under warranty. Then I got rid of it and bought a PS3 right before the warranty ran out, so I could at least get some money out of it before it inevitably became a pile of scrap. I didn't really want to continue dealing with that. I don't have enough money to pay $100 every time the thing broke down.

If you don't have a warranty you're going to seriously paying 100$ to get it fixed? Screw that.

If you have the knowledge, there are a crap ton of guides to fix what causes RROD. (Cracked solder usually)

Thermal paste, removal of x-clamps and fixing any necessary solder permanently fixes RROD.

Any system with moving parts is fucked eventually regardless.

I've thought about doing it myself.  I know my way around hardware. But you get what you pay for.

The home remedies don't seem all that reliable. I'm not going to use pennies as a heatsink as one video suggested. And I'm not buying anything from sketchy pages like this]http://www.redringfixguide.com/]this and this.

I think there are some people who will do it for cheaper.
