No, they weren't actually :/
It's in the style of Jumper but the chapters aren't actually based on Jumper's. The first six sectors of Jumper 1 are almost identical except for the background color. It's not until Jumper 2 that it got more varied, but tbh I didn't like Jumper 2 that much.

And as for the shortcuts: 1-5: Skipping ahead of the lift was intentional. 1-6: This shortcut wasn't intentional but it takes some decent control to get it right, so I left it. Grabbing the key isn't a requirement, btw. 2-2: This wasn't intentional either. I put a spike underneath the window so, while it is still possible, it's more difficult than just playing the level normally. 2-4: This shortcut was intentional but it's quite possible to jump through all of the sawblades on the bottom side. 2-5: This wasn't intentional and it lets you bypass pretty much the whole level, so I put spikes all over to block it off.
Actually it was pretty educational, you finding those shortcuts!

Ok, cool. I'm going to check out the original Jumper at some point. About the levels: 1-6: How did I not check that the key was only for getting the bandage. 2-2, 2-5: Probably a good thing to patch those up. They were a bit too easy to pull out after a little training. 2-4: I tried to use the bottom route but failed miserably. It's a nice challenge. 2-6: Is the detour I used in the final run intended? Using it feels like cheating. *** It seems that chapter 3 hasn't got that many shortcuts anymore. I haven't found any level breaking ones yet and I'm currently in the fifth level. I can upload a playthrough of all mini chapters once I'm able to beat them. It will take some time though. Maybe it's only a good thing to have someone test these so you can use the feedback to correct all unintended routes. The main routes are excellent, so forcing people to play them isn't necessarily a bad choice in this case.

2-6: Is the detour I used in the final run intended? Using it feels like cheating. Well I put those spikes at the beginning down to discourage people from trying that route, but I am not at all against people finding ways to circumvent levels with timed obstacles like that one. Unfortunately doing it that way isn't any faster than the normal way, it's just safer.

Here's a video about chapter 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSOYOZs9cOMI found only one level breaking shortcut from those levels. The routes were very interesting and challenging, loved all of them. I'm currently running through chapter 4 but I can't record a video about that. Trying to record levels that have numerous lights causes huge lag that delays saw shooters etc. I'm only running SMB and a recording program but it seems that my laptop just can't handle more than ~4 lights per level while recording.

I saw a comment from Ed in a different topic saying he had cut down the lights cap to 4 for the editor, so I went and preemptively toned down the lights in Chapter 4. Many of those levels had as many as 6 or 7 lights.
But if it's really problematic at the moment, just go into devmode and delete the lights.
Also, your chapter 3 video is pretty slick. You made 3-4 look so easy D:

A sneak peek of Chapter 6. In the original game, the last sector was not confined to one-screen levels, so I'm giving myself that latitude too.

Can't wait to see the complete map of chapter 6. I just completed chapter 4. Here's the playthrough video (note that I needed to remove some of the light sources to prevent lag): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKwsQ1cHxVkI liked this chapter most so far. The difficulty curve feels excellent and I can clearly see that I've become much more skilled with Ogmo after these first chapters. The levels have become very hard lately but they have remained balanced and fair. Whenever Ogmo dies, I feel it's because of my lack of skill, not because of your unfair design. Good stuff. I wonder what's waiting for me in the next chapter. Btw, I also uploaded a new run about chapter 1 because the first video included too many deaths and was a bit boring to watch. Anyone who's interested, see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6jonF9HW5w

Ah, another shortcut. I actually noticed that one in 4-6 earlier and closed it up, but evidently I forgot to save afterward :/
As for the one on 3-7, I kept it, but made it substantially more difficult to pull off (so, at the very least, completing the level normally is no more difficult than the shortcut).
And good one on 1-2, I was surprised you didn't get it the first time.

I don't know if it's because I suck with Ogmo really hard (because I barely played the game with any character other than Meat Boy), but I really found the levels to be way too trial and error for my tastes. It feels as if you have to pull off one perfect route through the levels and not mess it up at all.
Graphically-wise, the levels are excellent and the level design definitely was well thought of, but I just found the overall difficulty to be way too high. I managed to beat Chapter 1 without too much hassle, I still don't know how I beat the last level of Chapter 2 and completed Chapter 3 after dying more than a hundred times. I can't beat any level in Chapter 4 and thus I decided to leave Chapter 5 alone because it certainly won't get easier. I just felt that some levels require way too much precision to beat.
Then again, I didn't like the game Jumper, so take my comments with a grain of salt. I guess it's supposed to be really hard in order to be faithful to the original game. While you definitely put a lot of work into this and I respect what you have made here, I really can't enjoy this chapter at all, sorry.

That's understandable. It's meant to be really quite hard, and has the same sort of precision that the original Jumper has, as opposed to the free-flowing nature of Meat Boy.

Here's a video about chapter 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrvMPuTkUmcThe difficulty in chapter 5 was well balanced. The maps looked initially very hard when I studied the screenshots, but it seems that the grinded skills from chapter 4 carried over and made things a bit easier in practice. I think 5-4 and 5-6 were a lot easier than the rest. I wouldn't want any changes in 5-6 as it's a great level, but 5-4 could use some kind of a hazard in the middle corridor before reaching bandage girl. Also, the last drop after getting the key is very easy.
