Jumper Returns is complete! Both chapters are now available; the first chapter is called Jumper Returns and the second is Max Jumper. A warning: Max Jumper is extremely difficult, so only people that like The Kid-level difficulty will be at home with it. Jumper Returns is more accommodating but it's still very hard.

Pics and stuff for each chapter is below. Each map overview is a single screenshot of the entire chapter; they're all at least 1.5mb, so if you have internet troubles, be cautious. Video walkthroughs are courtesy of the highly skilled sh00takai.

JUMPER RETURNS is a series of mini-chapters based on the original Jumper game starring everyone's favorite scientific creation/Meat-substitute, Ogmo. Since they're done in the style of the original game, a simple Game Maker creation from 2004, there are some rules I'm carrying over. Most notably, each level is only one screen-area in size, though I have pulled back the camera a bit to better mimic the playing field of a Jumper level. I also went for the blocky Glitch tileset textures to accommodate the old visual approach, and because it has a rather nicely varied set of obstacles and hazards for Ogmo to have to deal with.

Especially spikes. Ogmo loves spikes.

Each level flows into the next level. Although Jumper Returns is 40 levels long, in order to fit the SMB format, I've divided it into two acts, each with three mini-chapters apiece. The first act is significantly easier than the second. Enjoy!

Looks good! I'm probably going to wait until the level portal comes out to try it though. It wont be long now!

These look incredible! Thank you for making these. I've been waiting for someone to recreate Ogmo's adventures.

Btw, I didn't even know you can use lighting in the glitch / retro tilesets. Ehh!

First thing I noticed, the camera seems off on my end. I die immediately because I'm off camera, I have to zoom it out to play. I don't fault you for this, there seems to be some quirks with the camera, I've released levels that look fine on my end, and got complaints about the camera being off. I don't know what exactly causes this, but hopefully it gets fixed for the portal.

With that out of the way, I must say, I love these levels! I was a big fan of the Jumper games, and these levels capture the essence of that game very well!

You should watch out in level 1-5 though, there's a huge break, you don't need the moving platform at all. Due to Ogmo's ability to double jump in air if you slide off of a wall, you can easily bypass the whole level by jumping under the level. My suggestion is to put a wall tiles under each platform, blocking you from nullifying the challenge of the level.

Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see future chapters!

I see. Well, the best I can do (since it works okay for me, obviously) is to move the spawn point and Bandage Girl further away from the edge of the screen. And I've fixed 1-5 by putting sawblades on the bottom of the low walls. Considering 1-2 requires you to pull the same trick, I dunno why it didn't occur to me to check it then.

Fun fact: you can still race ahead through 1-5 without the platform anyway. Anyway, thanks for the early feedback! Here's a teaser pic for level 2-2. I'm trying to use fans here in the manner that the original game used jump pads.

1-5 is easily exploitable and damn that climb up the shaft on 1-6 is annoying haha

Update! Chapter 2 (6 levels) has been uploaded, and chapter 1 has seen some updates to hopefully make it better (and playable, in the case of camera glitches). Also, some of the bandages have been removed -- my original plan was to have a bandage in every single level, but I think I'd prefer it if there were fewer that were more challenging to get. Both chapters are available in one 13-level download.

Also the map overview pics have been upgraded to full-size, so you can actually scroll and see the entire chapter in one continuous chunk. Be careful, though; obviously, they are quite large images. :)

Little look ahead at a part of chapter 3. Starting to get a little tricky here; I had to actually take out a bunch of spikes to make sure it was on par in the difficulty curve.

I cannot comprehend the purpose of the key on 2-2.

I cannot comprehend the purpose of the key on 2-2.

It's just so you don't get blasted by the missile launcher in the middle until you're ready to react. I don't want to cheapshot anyone the first time they start the level.

Tried these challenges and did not like them.

The levels are good, quite good.

Only problem is that you do not see bandage girl, which leads to a good amount of deaths.
And you die instantly at level 1-2 if you dont change your spawinging point.

Neither am I a big fan of the locked camera mode, a much better change would be too add camera box by hitting C and creating some sort of square.

Or have a "hidden" bandage girl, but make it very clear where to go. Many times i just killed myself because I didnt know where to jump or go.
