A traditional thread of most of the baords : let's talk about music. Just it would be great if people develop a bit : it's sometimes a great way to discover new bands.

Right now, I'm waiting for the SMB soundtrack to arrive per post. Today there are 2 CDs which have been turning the whole day (and yesterday (yes, I'm still listening to CDs... I have problem with MP3s, FLAC and other OGG)) :
AVISHAI COHEN TRIO - Gently Disturbed (2008)

Extract : => the ever evolving etude <=
It's an amazing jazz trio (drum, double bass and keyboard). I'm usually not that much of a jazz fan but I found their work amazing. It remind me of Keith Jarrett by some aspect, but with more swing. It usually makes my day when I listen to it.
KYLESA - Spiral Shadow (2008)

Extract : => don't look back <=
I discovered the band last year while they were touring in Europe with Torche, COalesce and Wolves in The Throne Room. They got everything I like : mlody, energy, emotion, groove and heavy music. I don't really know how to define it... It's somewhere between Punk, Rock and Heavy Metal. Some define them as sludge, but I don't find it satisfying. Aniway, they come from Georgia (the state, not the country), they are great, and in my opinion they are worth listening and seing live.

Can you tell mors about it? (kind of music, download link... etc).
this

Hardstyle FTW

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! FRAKK THAT!!!
I'm traumatise about hardstyle. This music is really not populart in France, and when I moved in germany, I see peoples being crazy about it (Hardstyle and Jumpstyle with "heroes" like Scooter) and it still hard for me to admit that music
Beside, before I paused it to listen to the hardstyle, I was listening to that :
PIN-UP WENT DOWN - 342 (2010)

Extract : => murphy in the sky with daemons <=
They are two, they are french and it's their second album. On one side you have a music genious which play everything, and on the other you have a multi voice singer (showing different aspects on every songs). They play some king of warm pop-metal and I love it. It's been my Album Of The Year 2010, without doubt.

It's an experimental rock album, meant for some not others.  Its beauty and artistic value is beyond any other album released in many years.

I guess I've been stuck in loving semi accepted prog.  Pink Floyd, radiohead, and T.V. on the Radio have been my staples for years.  I like to dip into the Pixies, Violent Femmes, NIN, Tool and Weezer from time to time.

Currently really like Lissie's cover of Pursuit of Happiness

...and just this morning I got hooked on Castlevania Birds cover by MikeNnemonic
