I like all kinds of music, except rap.

My 2 most favourites:

1) Pop music :x I don't know why, because it's not about lyrics (usually shitty), or music itself (shitty aswell). Maybe I'm just freak, who knows :P

2) U2

And 2 quick facts from my life (music related): I used to play keyboard and I used to sing in a choir as a soprano :D

Usually Between the Buried and Me, Protest the Hero, Cynic, No Consequence, The Number 12 Looks Like You...

One of my favorite BtBaM songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fB04xoUq3o

I've always wondered if I would grow out of hardcore / post-hardcore / progressive metalcore... and now that I'm 26, I guess I'm just not going to. It's just gotten better, deeper, and more meaningful to me. I can listen to bands like Into the Moat who are dissonant as hell, and I hear beautiful patterns that sometimes do more for me than traditional soft melodic chords. Don't get me wrong though, I still like softer melodic music a lot too (and it's best mixed with tech style), I just prefer and value the technicality and complexity of sounds from bands like the ones above. The worst thing I can see in music is when it is predictable and boring (both to the mind and to the ear). Anyone else who feels this way?

Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era by Various

It's a compilation of psych-garage rock bands from '65-'68. Mainly obscure and unheard of artists. But great nonetheless.

A sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oA2WUJwA0tY

&

another compilation album, haha.
Relics by Pink Floyd

Great psychedelic stuff also! mid to late sixties.
