General Unreal and Unreal Tournament Discussion thread.

The Unreal Tournament are fast paced arena games, each one varies in gameplay.
There's been four Unreal Tournament Games, Unreal Tournament 98, 2003, 2004, and Unreal Tournament 3. Each one is different - although 2004 is just a majorly upgraded version of 2003.

The original Unreal Tournament is a majorly upgraded version of unreal. It's weapons are more polished than Unreal's, and it has more models and such.

The Unreal Series is more of a generic FPS. Although it lacks the polish of the Unreal Tournament series, it is still fun. The original Unreal has story mode and multiplayer, as well as interesting weapons.

Generally a fun, fast paced FPS experience.

UT3 sucked big time, was so happy for a new UT and then this came >___>.

UT 99 is epic and 04 simply great.
I can't believe I still even got UT98 (The 2CD Edition :D)

I want to try playing Unreal I again or Unreal II... but in Unreal I the weapons feel a bit too generic and lame, way worse than HL1...

Yeah, it was more of a tech demo than anything really. UT2004 is still my favourite.

Anyone played Unreal or Unreal 2?

UT2004 was probably the best - mainly because of graphics and more settings and all. If UT3 was just UT98 with upgraded graphics, it would have been amazing.

UT3 took away too many things.

Assault, Mutant, Invasion, Last Man Standing, Double Domination...

Edit: It's still fun though, but another problem is how weapons aren't balanced. In UT2004 and 98, each weapon had it's advantages and disadvantages - if you liked using the Shock Rifle, you could without sucking a lot. UT3 makes it harder to play if you like a weapon that isn't a rocket launcher or flak cannon.

UT3 is decent but not as good as 2004. I love the UT2004 RPG mod.

You should try the UT2004 RPG mod. So much fun, I play it with bots.

You can level up and get skills and level up and get skills.

I made an awesome guy with shitload of damage buff (like 800% more damagE) and max vampire skill (so like 50% of his damage is turned into health for him) and I think 300 max hp and minor health regen, not sure.

But it's awesome, as long as he attacks he's invincible.
