Discuss the post-apocalyptic RPG series that everyone loves!
There's seven games, Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout Brotherhood of Steel, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and the upcoming Fallout Online.
They all use a stat mechanic called "SPECIAL" where each letter represents a stat. Strength Perception Endurance Charisma Intelligence Agility Luck
In Fallout 1, you play as a vault dweller who explores the remnants of Southern California to find a water chip. In Fallout 2, you play as that vault dweller's grandson/granddaughter, and I forget what else happens. In Fallout Tactics, you play as a wastelander conscripted by the Brotherhood of Steel. In Fallout 3, you play as a vault dweller who explores the remnants of Washington, D.C., a city in Virginia, and I think Maryland too to find your dad. In Fallout New Vegas, you play as a courier to find out who shot you in the head at the beginning of the game. I don't know what happens in Fallout Brotherhood of Steel.

<3 Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas. 3 is okay, but it doesn't mesh with the other games really...

Fallout 3 was amazing. I loved it and finished the game plus the various DLC for it.
New Vegas on the other hand, I'm having complete and utter trouble getting into. I've said this before, but I blame the oversaturated post-apocalyptic theme. Far too many AAA games seem to follow this theme for me to get into. I played the STALKERS, then Fallout 3, Borderlands, Metro 2033, and so on.
It just feels like too much.

I will never beat F2. I can't even beat the beginnin temple The temple is a bitch, but here's an invaluable piece of advice. Use hit and run tactics. Let the bugs come to you, attack ONCE, then run 4 steps away with your remaining AP. They don't have enough AP to move toward you and attack, so they will run up to you so you can hit and run again. IMO Fallout 1 has the best plot and setting, but Fallout 2 is the most fun to play. I think Fallout 3 is good and NV is great, but I prefer the first two. I'm in the minority of people who would rather have played the cancelled Fallout 3 (codenamed Van Buren) than Bethesdas version. Interestingly, New Vegas has several references to events and places from Van Buren due to members of the original Fallout team working on it.

Heh, now I have every Fallout game available on PC. Will start Fallout 1 after I finish the NCR story arc on New Vegas.

Fallout 3 is my favorite game of all time, i fucking love it! It's a masterpiece. New Vegas is good, but not as good as 3. I like the first one but i prefer the new. I haven't played the second one too much, but the strangest thing about it is probably the logo

I truly hated Fallout 3. How dare they create such a huge game, then put nothing worth doing in it? Everything felt bland, and the battle system is a stupid joke. Next time I wake up in a post-apocalyptic world, please kill me already. This is probably why I didn't like Oblivion much, either: The atmosphere didn't get to me because there was nothing interesting to do. (yes I even bothered to join the guilds and do the side quests, big freaking waste of time if you ask me). Oh and then there's the AI. After the infamous 'Stop right there, criminal scum' from Oblivion, Bethesda has learned nothing. Fallout 3 has probably the stupidest enemies I've ever seen in my life.

Actually pretty much anything that runs on Gamebryo gets boring fast. I was already starting to get bored of FNV by the very beginning of the NCR questline.
