Some of those are really cool replays, others are kind of eh.

Good job regardless, ( I improved my GHOST TOMB time thanks to you ) Wall jumping multiple times is apparently faster than sliding.

That is my sentiment aswell, I should get back to improving my times.

On speedrunning note, does anyone know how Warp Zone times are calculated (best time on each level on the run or everything including deaths counted?) and does it include character warps? Also saving seems bit buggy on them after the first run - have had better tries on warp zones and global rank time doesn't change. The save icon comes every time you beat a warp also.

So THAT'S why I can't get anywhere near the top of the leaderboard.

Cause I use MB and I don't cheat.

Just kidding man, I'm glad people are finding neat glitches and exploiting them. I just wish they weren't on the same leaderboard as me.

Edit: I had a somewhat spirited response here, but I think the tone was not warranted given the nature of j519's post. I apologize to those who read it.

The message in a nutshell: I don't cheat. If you call it cheating, you're only making an excuse for yourself not to do better. If my glitches are patched out and leaderboard times reset, you won't see me crying. I will accept the challenge and set a new time.

Also, I can use Meat Boy plenty good. He's just not good for many stages. In fact he would be quite boring. Being "the fastest person who only uses Meat Boy" is meaningless. People who use other characters could still be faster than you with Meat Boy. If you're not willing to expand your skill set beyond using meat boy, you are making excuses.

@MauveAvenger I'm somewhere between 3rd and 6th overall. It's hard to tell because my xbox is broken, and I have probably 80 seconds in 0.00'd times

@sp1nzok By my guess, warp zones have basically a "medal system." When I was running through the xbox version, I noticed each time I improved a warp zone, my overall time improved by exactly 15 seconds. Then when I improved my time again, my overall time did not improve. So Maybe "Gold Medal" gives you n seconds, and "Silver" gives you n+15. I would advise doing the whole warp zone with no deaths. And yes, some character warp zones are included. I remember specifically the Boot Licker lowered my time.

worst quality EVER at the beginning. Just being an ass, really impressive. Maybe I should buy an X360 controller  , or some skill.

you DEFINITELY should get a controller! (i have the xbox 360 controller for PC)
it makes an immense difference (i use the d-pad, rather than the stick, as well)

cool videos! wish we could have spelunky on PC as well :(

In the OP, I said the Xbox-exclusive characters were superior. Having run through most of the PC version, though, it must be said that Naija is the best on any system. By that I mean she is the most versatile and capable of the fastest times on the most stages. She's way better than Meat Ninja.

When I have the means, I'm making a video of my Naija runs.

I updated the OP with my Naija reel.

"Dancing on the Ceiling"

Because of my choice of music, the video is not available in Germany. Don't ask me why there and nowhere else.

Amazing stuff--as always.

I can't decide whether my favorite is the 4-14 or the 4-15X.  There's just too much here to like.

I guess I missed this thread the last couple times it was on top and haven't read it since.

I was definitely kidding around, EWBF. I apologize if my post sounded serious; It wasn't intended to be.

I've always been a big fan of speedrunning, and finding glitches and exploits is part of the game. If anything, I was intending to sound sarcastically jealous of your effort and resolve.

On that note, lots of respect for those Naija runs.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone.   I'll throw the leftovers together with some non-Naija stuff in the next week.

Amazing stuff--as always.

4-15x is one of my favorites. I love all of Chapter 4. Honestly, 4-14 was a fluke. You can tell I didn't expect to get popped up there.

But we all get our share of lucky breaks.
