Just in case since my computer crashed in the middle of the update and now the game isn't working, I want to re install it but I'm afraid I'll lose my progress

Copy the "super meat boy" folder.
Host it on dropbox.

Thanks, I already re installed it and now it's working with my save file intact for some reason,I just wanted to know if I could just copy my savefile as a backup without needing to do anything else before doing anything.

Copy the "super meat boy" folder.
Host it on dropbox.
Then paste it on your new "super meat boy" folder.
Hooray.

^That, dropbox is awesome.
You can also upload it regularly to Google Docs, or, if you have Windows 7 or Linux, you can 'symbolic link' or 'file junction' the SMB folder to another location. Then it backups automatically whenever your save file updates.
Google those 2 terms if you want to know how that works, it requires some fiddling with the command shell and I'm not good at explaining such things, but it works nicely for me.

If you just want the save file just copy the user data folder.

You need only to copy userdata folder. It includes both save games and replays.
