You may/may not have heard of Cave Story . In short its kinda like a metroidvania side scroller with simpler mechanics. Anyway Cave Story is widely regarded as one of the greatest indie games ever made, and I've completed it so I can certainly agree with the statement. But the point is that the main character, Quote, would be a great addition to Super Meat Boy. He gets a Jet Pack later in the game, and I think it'd just fit in to super meat boy. So anyway in my qualms i did some research and came across a topic. I don't remember the exact link but on the Cave Story forums, apparently The folks at team meat asked if they could include quote in SMB but Pixel/Nicalis Refused to do so. Can Anybody confirm this story? Or perhaps Team Meat can confirm it themselves. I mean really I think quote would be a great fellow for SMB. |

He confirmed it.

Truth be told im kind of dissapointed. Quote would have been an amazing character.

Some devs are just overly protective about their Intellectual Property, even though being in a game like this would only raise awareness of the character and open themselves up to a greater audience.
I for one, have never heard of Cave Story, even though the OP claimed it as "one of the greatest indie games ever made". If I've never heard of it, I'm sure a lot of others haven't as well, so Pixel is really missing a great opportunity.

Well then...it's a good thing Pixel has not heard of GG2 at all since both Quote and Curly Brace are used in-game. |

Same here. I heard of it for the first time yesterday on the free game thread. Never before (or maybe heard across a discussion, but never took the time to look / try and, to be honest, I don't even remember reading a single line on it). |

Its a damn good game alright, but to call it the greatest indie game of all time is just absurd. Maybe the most ambitious of its time, maybe indie game of the year, but there are so many games that are better. Super Meat Boy, Aquaria, Minecraft, VVVVVV to name a few. Its a fantastic game, and I love it to pieces but I'm starting to get sick of all the people that fap to it incessantly.
