Its a damn good game alright, but to call it the greatest indie game of all time is just absurd.  Maybe the most ambitious of its time, maybe indie game of the year, but there are so many games that are better.  Super Meat Boy, Aquaria, Minecraft, VVVVVV to name a few.  Its a fantastic game, and I love it to pieces but I'm starting to get sick of all the people that fap to it incessantly.

I'm going to disagree with VVVVVV being better.

I'd rather have a game that isn't unique and has perfect gameplay over a game thats very poorly constructed but completely new.

FPS's are the exception to that rule.

I see what you're saying, honestly I'd rather just drop it though.  All I was trying to say is that Cave Story gets a little too much praise.  Like, just a tiiiiny bit too much hype.  Its hailed as the greatest shit since sliced bread, when in reality its like in the top 10 greatest things since sliced bread?  Does that make sense?

Ummmm what was the topic exactly?  Oh yeah, Quote would have been really cool in Super Meat Boy.  I think the guys behind La Mulana or whatever its called also said no.  La Mulana was also foreign right?  Japanese too?  I don't know much about the game.  I wonder if it has something to do with the culture there perhaps?  Or maybe it has something to do with Nicalis?  They're the ones who are in charge of both games remakes after all...

I was about to say it. The game is japanese and, about copyright and property, I think they have a different view than "us" (us being europa and north america, I don't know for the rest of the world). Blaming them for that is quite unfair in my opinion.

Quote would be great - he could have his lvl3 machine gun as a jump instead of a regular jump, so... a very slow, but progressive vertical gain :D
Advantage of that being can just shoot upwards eternally... disadvantage being precision jumps being a bit more difficult due to the slow ascension.
