Anyone else here think they could do without all the ridiculously stupid ARG stuff for SMB, and get an update for SMW completion/A+ instead?  Except for speedruns and a few ironmans I'm basically done playing Meat Boy until this stuff is fixed, and why I strongly recommend the 360 version to others...it's just more up-to-spec.

But rant over, seriously Team Meat completion and A+ for SMW is my only wish.

Right there with ya man, I kind of think the ARG is cool I just for the most part can't be bothered to follow it every step of the way. Until the SMW chapters (I don't really care about 1-off levels, but definitely the chapters) are recording completion times and A+'s I just can't get into them.

I asked Team Meat about times saving on the levels.

This is the response: https://twitter.com/#!/SuperMeatBoy/status/58345222249259008

@KristopherMS due to the amount of levels in the database times might never ever save.

I don't get it. Not even on the user side of things?  How does it make any sort of sense whatsoever to take a mechanic very important to the game and sever it completely?

Not only that, but it works flawlessly on the 360 side of things.  I actually wonder if Steamcloud would be beneficial here...  Why not just make it active for featured chapters?

I am pretty pissed right now, SMW is TOTALLY POINTLESS AND USELESS without completion and A+, I will never play the PC custom levels until it's fixed and if it's never going to be fixed I will regret buying the game for PC, screw that "Ultra" edition if a basic functionality can't be added.

You could still play the levels for fun, you know. It's not like you need the completion thing to know you completed them.

If it's too many levels it's not programmed well. If he's talking about highscores I see, but individual completion would be easy to program. A savefile would have the level ID/filename, which would only be a couple of bytes and your time, which would also be a couple of bytes. Let's pretend that takes up 8 bytes. If you played a total of 1,000 levels that would only take up 8 kilobytes which is nothing.

True, but that kind of isn't the point.  The "A+" was a type of player reward in the main game, something that felt satisfying to get for the first time...often times you struggled to get.  Seeing that stripped from chapters that work perfectly fine on 360 is a shame, especially when it's (allegedly) Steam users who generated the most profits...

All the more reason in my opinion for the mod community to have a bigger presence in SMB.

So, if level saving is assumed impossible, how is voting on the levels going to be deemed possible?  After all, it would take more HD space to store a random rating of 1-5 than to save level completion (0 for false, 1 for true)... I am frustrated with this myself, it's just sloppy.  Can TM write our save files to our computers or store them in the cloud?

I agree. I understand if they don't want to save it on the server, but saving on the user side is easy. And playing the harder user-made levels is kinda pointless if it isn't saved.

Alright, sure, I can see where you're coming from and I somewhat agree with you. They should give the A+ and times back, I expected them to do so later. Now telling it's not very possible is just backing out of a promise, that's cheap.
