No saving times/A+ in Super Meat World? REALLY? Especially when they've already done it in Teh Internets on XBLA?

I am...baffled.

A bunch of levels like this were added to SMW. No possible way of completion.

I am pretty pissed right now, SMW is TOTALLY POINTLESS AND USELESS without completion and A+, I will never play the PC custom levels until it's fixed and if it's never going to be fixed I will regret buying the game for PC, screw that "Ultra" edition if a basic functionality can't be added.

You could still play the levels for fun, you know. It's not like you need the completion thing to know you completed them.

True, but that kind of isn't the point.  The "A+" was a type of player reward in the main game, something that felt satisfying to get for the first time...often times you struggled to get.  Seeing that stripped from chapters that work perfectly fine on 360 is a shame, especially when it's (allegedly) Steam users who generated the most profits...

All the more reason in my opinion for the mod community to have a bigger presence in SMB.

Alright, sure, I can see where you're coming from and I somewhat agree with you. They should give the A+ and times back, I expected them to do so later. Now telling it's not very possible is just backing out of a promise, that's cheap.
Doesn't the XLBA version just have selected levels? I guess it's easier / better doable to save the times of few levels for a dozen of users instead of saving the times of a dozen of levels (with more comming) for a dozen of users

Someone already did that... be more creative!
How bout that: Try to drink huge amounts of cherry whiskey without dying.
And every time you die, you play a SMB-Level.

What doesn't make sense is that all the other variables including difficulty and rating for the moment seem like they are on track to being implemented.  If there was going to be a trade off like this, then I don't know about you but I'd rather have my times saved than have levels sorted by difficulty/rating.  But if one can be done, why not the other?  I understand that level saving is personalized for each user whereas difficulty/rating aren't, but the Steam cloud should be able to accommodate.  Even better, isn't it possible to just write files to our HDs and query them when SMW loads?  With all the amenities that the PC and Steam provide in comparison to XBLA, it is a downright travesty that XBLA stands to outperform the Steam platform when it comes to something that Steam is clearly more capable of handling and doing.

We really are going to "Enter the Unknown".

This is what I was wondering. Save data for the stock levels are already written to the HD (UserData/savegame.dat) and that's only 8 KB; file size therefore wouldn't be an issue. Levels in SMW would obviously have some kind of unique ID to distinguish them, so how difficult would it be to write to a file something to the extent of "map 0000364 12.3671"?

New update. It seems like ratings are fixed and the music thing hasn't, it's just replaced with the salt factory music. Also the level editor is a little better, but basically everything in the user friendliness topic wasn't even considered. I still have trouble clicking. I have to cntrl+alt+del to escape. Ugh.

Also, "The editor is in beta and will probably always will be."

I'm not trying to be mean, but still. This is for shame. I know it's still in beta, but

"The editor is in beta and will probably always will be."
"and will probably always will be."
