If they wanted to do this they'd have to make Impossible Boy look cooler.

I find that it's a bit unfair to those who are not as skilled at the game as some of us here are in the very devoted community.

However, if they're willing to go out of their way to do it, I have no objections.

Since it's just skins and not actual unlockable characters that have different abilities, I wouldn't really consider it unfair.

Let me remind you of the mentality of hats in TF2.  Cosmetic?  Yes.  I sold one for $100.

It's a cool idea, but there are so many other things I would rather see implemented before cosmetic skins.

You misunderstand.

Hats in TF2 were originally created to be "status symbols" to show off that you were a dedicated player. The TF2 team dropped the ball when they put the only way to obtain said status symbols in the hands of a random drop system. They put it in a random drop system because people would farm achievements (as seen with all class updates prior to the Sniper/Spy update).

Now, consider that there is no way to farm achievements in Super Meat Boy without legitimately becoming skilled enough to accomplish said achievements or by just cheating (which will always be frowned upon). Now doesn't that cosmetic sound like a rewarding way to show off how dedicated of a player you are?

The key difference is EARNING. Trust me, earning them is that much more satisfying of a way for the player and developer alike to approach cosmetics. I speak from experience.

Tell him that hats ruined the aesthetic of TF2, trading made the game even worse and rebalancing is not an equivalent to adding more items.

Also, point taken.

TF2 is a farce now and everyone knows that, I used to be a dedicated player but won't touch that game now. I'm not saying that Meat Boy should get beards, eyepatches, swords, stethoscopes, or 200 different hats with the ability to paint and name said items. I'm also not saying they should open up a "Meat store" to purchase items/skins from. It's simply more skins on top of already existing ones.

I don't understand how you even got TF2 out of adding skins to Super Meat Boy. These aren't 'rare' or 'random', these are aesthetic changes that go along with unlocking things. Although I don't think this is the best idea, as it seems like a waste of disk space, I would love Girl Boy because I advocate crossdressing.

YES, I AM KIDDING.

the idea is nice, but I definately don't want to do all those levels without deaths. Thinking about it already makes me rage.
