As someone who speedruns on XBLA as well as PC, AH is not really comparable to Josef at all - some of the XBLA levels are actually fastest with Hominid...especially any level with fans. That being said, he'd have to work rather hard to compete with Naija, queen of speedrunning.

Viridian is a PC-only character, right? In which case the large majority of fan levels are faster with Viridian than Hominid.

It either boosts its jump or (hardly) slows its fall depending on when you use it.

Think of Alien Hominid as a 'Rocket Jumper' from an FPS game and you'll get a good feel for how he works.
RyokoTK: I'm not convinced. Unless you're falling straight up with V, he's very slow. Hominid runs and jumps a lot like the Kid who isn't that much slower than Meat Boy.

Most the fan levels are either vertical or have ceilings, so Viridian dominates. Off the top of my head he holds my records on three of them.

Other than Viridian in a vertical level, I'd say the best character for fan-intensive levels is Josef. AH just seems a bit loose, for lack of a better word. Wait, actually, he feels floaty, that's what I was looking for. Loose is a good word too, though.

I no longer visit these forums due to lack of interest in the community and to an extent, the game itself.

Just got 3.16 on 3-5 Uptown with Hominid. 3.11 and 3.13 exist with Naija but they may not be legit (I don't recognize either name) so Hominid is competitive on at least one map.
Edit: He's also competitive on 4-12X Beholder, but I have to spend more time on it.
