Well, what do you think?

Im a little disappointed that its not so good, not like I thinked. The level editor, for example, it's just devmode with some buttons and... well, not too much. I mean, it's ok for me, but it's not 4 months of waiting. It should be out some weeks after the PC release, so people could begin making levels. We could have more levels than the ones we have right now.

I know that it will have more updates, that its not finished, but...

I haven't tried it in a bit, but does the voting system work yet? Also, does it record times or track completion at all?

Thanks, now I can guarantee you I'll get no sleep another night, making me awake for about 40 hours.

Also, I'm not really disappointed by it. They implemented pretty much everything they wanted (editor, voting, sorting, searching) it's just that some features don't work yet. You guys are too impatient...look at other 8-10€ games. Those games give you way less and this game is not even 100% finished yet.

Wait, you're judging an unfinished feature.
If you look into the game dat, you'll see that all levels / chapters are there.
At the moment it's more "Simulated Meat World", but I'm sure that everything will be fully working and awesome when the level editor is ready and people can start uploading.
The only feature that I'd like to have is the ability to upload additional files for the chapters.

Someone already did that... be more creative!
How bout that: Try to drink huge amounts of cherry whiskey without dying.
And every time you die, you play a SMB-Level.

Are they planning to implement any records or completion data for the Super Meat World? I find it difficult to play through levels without my achievement being recorded.

Otherwise it's everything one could want.

Hah.

No, but you do know that comes down to Valves gazilion people with a pre built game engine versus 2 guys who had to make everything from scratch? Its basically an awesome mod.

However I support what you tried to say here.

-

Like some of you know since most every post I made here ever (including this one) is about how I want moar sexy leader boards. This is what bugs me. I mean why make a game that to me seem built around live leader boards, but ignore all the faults too it. I know for a fact that you have people who are more than willing to help you clean up the boards, but why don't you do it?

Yesterday when I first learned about ALT'ing I almost uninstalled the game. I mean seriously?
For those of you who does not know what that is, try to press ALT while you're playing any map. If you do it right your character can now walk past walls. What's even more horrifying is that supposedly they made it so that you have to use this feature in SMW to pass some levels. If this is true then I'm just... I'm at a loss really. Honestly if you know that this is NOT true, then I would really want you to point this out and explain wrong I am as if it is true then this game in a competitive setting is not worth putting effort into.

Also I feel that the Devs aren't really communicating a lot with the community. I mean it's an indie game so you sort of expect them to crack some jokes on the forum every now and then while telling people what works and what does not work.

Then again its easy to sit on the fence and bitch about how the neighbor doesn't cut his grass every week when you don't know that he is dying from hemorrhoids. :(

Maybe the fact that it's not finished despite being advertised as being ready back in January is why they're disappointed.

And following in your use of Internet dismissive cliches, you mad.

All it really needs is time/completion recording and enter the unknown.

It's not bad otherwise.

This really is my main beef with Super Meat World so far. Considering the huge delay there's been about it, most people expected to see it in a more complete state. As it stands right now, it looks like it has been made fairly quickly and haven't been thought of very well. This probably would have been overlooked if it came out in January, because people would have seen that the portal was made in a short time and therefore forgiven the flaws more easily.

SMW will get better, but it's off a really shaky start, moreso with the first version of the level editor, which manages to be even buggier than devmode was in some aspects.

This is gonna come off as a dickish statement, but I'm extremely disappointed in the PC version in general.  From a technical level it's been a disaster, just one thing after another and it never seems to be at 100%.  When my i7/GTX480 is getting lag spikes you know something's wrong w/ the picture.  If it's not a technical issue on one level, it's a bugged/missing feature on another...and I've been hearing "we're working on it" for over 4 months.

To be honest, I'd be perfectly happy w/ a non-bugged version of devmode we have now.  And just enable the missing features of the Portal, add in completion/A+ and I'm good.  But right now the 360 is the superior version from both a performance and a feature-set standpoint...and that's kind of sad given the ability of the PC platform.  But you know, it's equally disappointing how incompetent the mod community has been thus far to offer any support to users.

For what SMB was worth, it was an honest price for an honest service and I can't complain.  Very few dev's ever support and do as much for the fans as Team Meat, so I'm satisfied w/ the product I got.  Overall, I think SMW was a better idea than it was as a service execution and maybe too much for only two guy's to really deliver on.  So yeah, it's a disappointment to a degree especially the lack of standard features (completion/A+/DLC leaderboards) enjoyed by 360 users.  Hopefully these three things can be rectified in the future, and that's really all I ask for...simply give Steam the same feature set 360 users get.  That's my main realistic hope.
