Without some way to save times, the entirety of Super Meat World and the editor itself is completely worthless.
This is the slightly harsher-worded version of exactly how I feel. I feel like a broken record but I won't be interested in SMW until the times and A+'s are saving, at least for the official chapters, I don't really care about the one-offs. I haven't played SMB in over a month now thinking this will be implemented, and if it doesn't make it in soon, it may as well just fall by the wayside at this point, I loved the vanilla game and maybe that's all I needed.
I feel the same, and I'm also starting to think SMW completion may add up to wishful thinking on our part. It really comes down to Team Meat's motivation to do it, considering the community has been very clear and blunt about wanting completion/A+, if it doesn't get done then Team Meat obviously doesn't think the effort and fans are worth it...bottom line. It's not like it's impossible to do, XBLA users get it after all. It's just a question of does Team Meat care enough.
My hopes for the PC version were too high, I expected a version which fully took advantage of Steam and the PC platform...not a 360 port plain and simple and even a gimped 360 port. In spite of that I'm still satisfied w/ SMB, I just want and expect the same kind treatment XBLA users enjoy. Not to get told off by virtue of "well it's just too hard, blah blah blah" via fucking Twitter (the newest sad/lame Internet sacrilege I must endure, wonder what the new INET social disgrace will be?).
Enough excuses about team size and "free", we've waited months on end for promised/advertised content and this game made more than enough moolaa to justify the effort it would take to add completion/A+, hire another person for Christs sakes to help out! I understand there may be intangibles where it's not that easy, but from a consumer perspective and how I rate my service and product...it could be a lot better. So from where I'm standing A+/completion is a question of will and motivation on Team Meat's part, and it's presence or lack thereof on SMW should be an example of that.
Edit: Maybe I'm just angry because a big part of my user chapter idea was to make mid-difficulty levels (maybe easier than Cramps), but in order to get the A+ you need to have the precision of a surgeon. A+ was going to be one of my key speedrunning rewards, ones that you need to practice a lot and perfect everything for. Meat Boy is about speedrunning and precision, if I was interested in making simply fun-to-play chapters I'd go to a much better editor-related game like LBP that does that stuff much better. No A+/completion in SMB is like a circulatory system without white blood cells...
