So, there were some interesting articles posted to Steam today on the SMB level editor, and one of them I found especially interesting: The Eurogamer Article. A post on Team Meat's blog reveals a final bug-fixing update next week will complete work on the game.
"After that we will be closing the book on the PC version, porting SMB to Mac and swiftly moving on to game #2 (because we can't seem to stay happy without working on something constantly)," Team Meat's Edmund McMillien explained.
McMillien previously told Eurogamer the two-man team's follow up will have nothing to do with their eponymous fleshy hero. "There will be another game but it won't be Meat Boy. It'll be totally new."
Hoping for a reprieve in the future? Bad news. Team Meat's blog post confirms this is the end. Full stop. "It's time to hand the reigns to the SMB community and retire."
"There won't ever be a Super Meat Boy 2."
 Okay.(Ironically, this is actually my 200th post. A pretty depressing one, if you ask me )I goimg two joine teh uknliey tarin adn saay: SUPER TIME FCUK! A final bug fixing update? FINAL? They haven't even finished the Level editor, they'll have to keep working on it for at least a month so that all the bug fixes are gone. I am angry at Team Meat now.  Also shut up DD Commander. |

I noticed hey introduced a 1 second delay when re-trying a level/moving onto the next level. I reported this in the Technical section and it later vanished from the forum. What is the point in the technical section if not for bug reporting or in this case, technical support?
Also no progress saving makes the game incredibly dull to play. Yay you get to progress the story every 20 levels.
Edit: Also still tons of bogus leader board times.

Every time I try to create a chapter the editor crash and gives me a mini dump error. Does anyone else have my same problem?
I do.
And it enrages me everytime i try to do it. EDIT: Aha! I found a workaround for this. Put the levels which are supposed to be last played in the chapter, first into the roster! Example : level 20 -> level 19 -> level 18 etc. It isn't working, it still crash. Thanks anyway! |

I think the vote should have some sort of feedback implemented.
Currently, nothing tells the player the vote has been saved. I think this should be avoided if possible, especially considering that when a level is finished, the player can do different things (retry, go back to menu, go to next level, etc.).
Examples of possible feedback :
- (visual) a pop-up "vote saved" (press any button to skip)
- (visual) animate the stars when the player click (eg shimmer)
- (visual) an icon like the one used to confirm a replay is saved, only a different icon
- (sound) a sound or voice
- etc.
I think another choice would be to use the "save replay" button, which is not used anymore, for the vote action.
For instance: press "replay button" to display/unhide the vote menu, then use left/right to select the rating, then press the "replay button" again to save.
