First off, I really love the level editor and plan to crank out a chapter very soon! And I shall use this thread to post any bugs I come across.

Well, I found one that is really frustrating me.

When I place Bandage Girl down, she's huge! And so is Dr. Fetus when he comes to claim her. But when I resize her and try out again, some weird shit happens. First, Bandage Girl doesn't stay put and seems to float around. Next, I find myself immune to mini buzzsaw launcher attacks.

What the frak?

You're using shift to scale instead of ctrl. Shift moves the object forward and backward in the view plain. You use it to create far away looking parallax backgrounds or very near, fast moving foreground objects.

As for your issue with saw launchers, are you placing them on a layer you can interact with, like the active layer (4)? If you are, you're most likely using the wrong sprite for it (if that is still possible in the new version of the editor, I haven't tried it yet).

Good luck.

The issue with the saws is that, after touching Bandage girl, you become immune to death because the game sees it as you having completed the level. They'll work again if you just press F1. Also, use control to re-size objects instead.

Or if camra bounds have been set up, go outside them.

Thanks  guys. My fault for being an idiot.

So, I've come across something that is an actual problem for me. It has to do with Layer 5, or "Back Tile General". I'm editing my No Fly Zone level so it can look better for when I upload my chapter. But anyways, when I filled the back of the level with tiles, it lagged everything and made things buggy. I couldn't wall jump (he'd just hit the wall and slide down), and things were slow. Now, my PC does suck, but I've been able to play the game fine in -ultralowdetail (thanks guys for making that!). I didn't have any anti-spyware or firewalls going on, Aero was turned off, and I was even using Game Booster. But to no avail. It wasn't until after I removed the background wall that things started running smoothly again when I tested the level again.

So hopefully, one of two things is happening that you can help me out with:

1. Some kind of bug.
2. I'm doing something wrong.

If not and it's just my compy being a dick, I'm gonna have to design levels without layer decoration. Sorry.

Well, I could be wrong, but everything I've gained in my experience editing for SMB says that it's just your computer being slow. I actually had some similar experiences when I was trying to use a laptop to edit levels that was way too slow to be useful. I was having issues specifically with background tiles just screwing up all kinds of things. I've seen a bunch of patterns of bugs that are just generally occurring while in low FPS moments... and this just seems like exactly that to me. Sorry to give you potentially bad news if you have no other means to run the game, but on top of you just having those issues, it's been my experience too that running the editor in ultra-low or low will make some objects just not work correctly as well, further making your life difficult.

I wish you luck and hope you can still get your levels to shine regardless. Meat Boy

I don't run the editor in ultralow. I just run it in plain old -devmode.

So I just found another interesting bug. Everything was going fine until I decided to start playing with waypoints. So I get this saw, set its waypoint, and test it out. That's when problems started happening. Now when a floor dissolves, you fall through but the tile is still there and the sound effect for it dissolving goes on in an infinite loop. The same goes for locked tiles.

I don't think the infiate cruble block brake is realated to waypoints.
As that happened to me once after starting a new level, so i think its just a bug with crumble blocks in the editor.

What could it be then? I can't move on with my level until I can fix the problem.
