(I'm not sure whether this should go in tech support, or in level editor, so I put it in here since it is the level editor that's not working)

Every time I try to start up the level editor through Steam I get this error: "Runtime Error!
Program: c:\program f... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information."

I have an official Steam account, am running it in online mode, can run the base game just fine without changing settings, am running windows 7 32-bit, I have a 2.2Ghz dual core AMD processor (I think), have some sort of ATI GPU, 256MB of visual memory, and 3.75GB of ram.

All my drivers are up to date, I've tried re-installing it, any suggestions?

-Oh, I should probably mention that I haven't unlocked SMW yet, in case that might be the problem.

Did you type in the "-devmode" in the startup settings? If so the problem is probably the screen resolution. In the devmode the game starts up in a different resolution (lower) than normally (i think its 1200x700). The problem could be that your computer can run with that resolution. Try seing if you can run the ACTUAl game in the resolution 1200x700. You can see how big your screen is at: http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ I had a problem once, that reminded a little of yours (if it actually is because of the screen resolution). I couldnt start SMB up on my crappy laptop because the normal resolution setting was to high so it crashed everytime i tried open it. I dont remember how i fixed it, but i think you can type something in the startsetting about what resolution it should be... Try looking it up

Hey there, I just wanted to fill you in how I got around this error.

You need to add a launch command to the level editor in Steam, you should not need to add the command to the actual game as well.

Right click on the Super Meat Boy Level Editor and select Properties.  Then click Set Launch Options and add the command,  -1024x768   and push okay.  No quotes, just write it as shown.

Me thinks Team Meat should straighten this out, as I can imagine people punching their monitors in half just trying to get the silly thing to turn on.  Just so you all know, my default resolution is 1280x1024.  Not only is the game hard; turning the level editor on is even harder!

Edit:  There seems to be a side affect of running the game in a lower resolution; notably that your mouse clicks aren't entirely accurate.  You'll notice that your currently select tile will drift away from the cursor the farther away the mouse is from the center of screen.  Selecting the buttons at the top of the screen also appears to be a bit tricky, though certainly doable.

Ah yes, changed the resolution, and it started up without that error thing, and I can see what looks like a level editor, now to test to see if it actually works.

-Edit-

Well it does seem that the mouse clicks are a bit off, but I guess that's another problem. Does it get fixed if run in a window? If so, how do you run in a window?
