So in my lurkings of this board, I have seen cries for easier custom levels.

Well never fear! Meat Power is here!

Meat Power is the name of my chapter in progress. I don't know yet how many levels I shall have, perhaps a full house. We shall see. But my goal is to make levels that aren't hard. Now, that doesn't mean they're going to be super easy either! Don't get me wrong guys. But I want to focus more on the fun factor. To me fun =/= difficulty. I'll also place bandages in some to provide a more of a challenge for those seeking difficulty. That doesn't mean those challenges will be super-hard either. I'm not the best at Super Meat Boy (just recently unlocked The Kid and haven't even completed Cotton Alley yet) and I make sure that I'm able to get the bandage myself. Every level I mention in this thread shall have been uploaded to SMW by the time you read it. And when I'm done with my levels I shall create the chapter.

I'm also new to the level design business, so don't be a bastard.

That being said, please enjoy my levels!

1. No Fly Zone

I originally wanted to make a chapter called Hunt for Bin Laden, but later decided against it. No Fly Zone is a reflection of my former idea. This is my first SMB level ever and I'm quite pleased with it. It was originally harder and required more precision jumping, especially at the start of the level, but I decided to turn the difficulty down a bit.

2. Jellystone

This level was inspired by Yogi Bear. It's also the first time that I tried to play with layers. Jellystone is quite fun, is a tad harder than No Fly Zone, and provides an extra challenge for those who want the bandage. I tried around six times to get it.

This time, the picnickers have set up a defense to make sure you can't get at their food!

These levels can be found in Super Meat World as individual levels. Enjoy!

Gave em both a shot.
No fly zone has a few good ideas. I like the jumping section at the start, and the zig zag launchers are kind of fun.

The zigzags are not. They add nothing but time.

Jellystone had some Ok Pacing. you could speedrun it without stopping.

You would greatly benefit from three things right now.

1. You have multiple layers for background. It's worth learning how to use them. Instead of just having the forest canvas behind the player, add some dirt, or mix up the grass texture. Your levels are a bit bland at the moment.
2. Learn to use the camera. You won't have to rely on saws to stop the player from leaving your area.
3. Learn to use Way point mode. Spinning saws and up and down saws only exist in the Forest and the End tile-sets I believe. Way point mode adds a ton of options to your obstacles.

Also, learn to scale your obstacles so all your saws don't look the same.

If you want a good example, check out my level: The Bridge. It's medium hard, but I bet you can handle it.

Well, I'm glad you liked it.

And The Bridge was pretty cool. I can't get passed the part with the giant missile though. That's too cruel for medium.
