hi all
I've recently created and submitted a chapter on SMW called La Stanza. It basically started for being a random series of levels made for just learning the basis of the devmode back in the day, however I took the opportunity to try some different mechanics... it came out this 20-levels not-really-that-difficult chapter. And because it seems that Edmund likes it on the Twitter thing (thanks mate ) I've created this thread to collect some impressions and feedback, so I can continue working on it to release soon a more polished and definitive version. I've seen some works on this forum and... yeah, they're insanely good. I you have the patience to spend some time on these levels and give me some advise i would really appreciate it.

Anyway! The levels! If you want to play them just search "La stanza" on the Meat World, here's the full list:

01 - Template Warehouse
02 - Real estate
03 - Beatrice
04 - Thunderbolt
05 - steel corridor
06 - Juicy wasteland
07 - Sunset Rider
08 - Edgy
09 - Settembre
10 - Gran Cairo
11 - Rusty cage
12 - Look ma no hands
13 - silver coins
14 - Ramirez //btw this has drive me nuts to upload on the smw, i've tried to delete half of the objects but it still doesn't work. if you know what could be please let me know!
15 - Swiss alps
16 - Crank
17 - Pulp Reprise
18 - enrichment center
19 - Cosmonauta
20 - the love you take...

That's it! In case anyone wants to modify/play offline these levels feel free to download them here, should works. Load them with "lastanza1","lastanza15" etc.
Over and out

honestly, my only suggestion is to put anything like salt, maggots, saws, and such on back tile general, so it doesn't poke out of the wall, the problem with putting those on active tile is most notable on Ramirez, where there's maggots in front of a wall

the only exceptions to only putting saws on back tile general are things like the saws that move on an arm and saws in one-tile-high corridors

DUDE!!!

I REGISTERED here JUST TO RECOMMEND YOUR CHAPTER FROM MEAT WORLD!!!

EXCELLENT WORK!

I just finished the last chapter and I didn't feel bored or overwhelmed/frustrated (not more than usual :) throughout the whole chapter. Very challenging and very rewarding, even when you make the slightest progressions within a level.

Keep it up and please, do MORE!!

(if Team Meat pays any attention to the Meat World content, this chapter should be featured.)

Welcome to the Forums!

But I have to say, no one will care if you recommend this. It isa great chapter, but you have no reputation. If you are a longtime member, or someone of high respect, if you can call it that. For example, if someone like RyokoTK recommended this, people will listen, as he makes chapters of some of the highest quality, like Starlight. That and Team Meat already recommended this on thier Twitter.

Sorry if this sounds hostile.

Hahah!

I know someone who cares, Mercurio, and that's all that matters. All.

Mercurio, my favourite level "Enrichment Center"! Your talent is variety, you really know how to mix things up, even within a single level. It made your chapter feel COMPLETE and very satisfying.
I cracked up at "Cosmonaut" ! Suuper creative! I wish it was a tad more challenging cause it felt like I didn't spend nearly as much time as I wanted to on that level. Left me craving for more..MORE. Also, place more keys near the bottom of that level, it would add a good amount of tension to the map.

BRAVO!

One thing I didn't like is that you didn't use retro Meat Boy on the retro levels.

Just played through these earlier and overall I loved them, especially the weird/crazy levels...we need more like this in SMW!

That said, I came close to raging in a few spots but most of the difficult levels felt pretty rewarding.

Case in point:

^Felt awesome to get up there after about 50 tries!
