Sonic 3 by itself was worse than Sonic 2. Sonic 2 was more fun in that it focused more on speeding through levels (which is what Sonic is about). Now, if you have the COMPLETE game (S3&K), THAT is much better than any Sonic game released to date. The only competitors to it are the day stages of Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic Advance 2. Otherwise, it's too much about exploring, and not about level completion.

You just wasted your time reading this information, as it is useless, and as such you wasted your time. Furthermore, you wasted even more time by reading this statement, a it is just as useless as the prior. So, not only did you waste time, but you wasted time after wasting your time. Make your time

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. Sonic 3 was an incomplete game, and it felt like it. Sonic 2 at least had an implied story (kinda) in that you had a pretty damn good feeling the end was near. Sonic 3 just ended at Launch Base, and it was silly. S&K was better as a stand alone cart, but even then, meh.

All 3 had over 2 was different shields. The bosses were about as creative, the levels have always been the same (more or less), but the emerald stages were WAY less challenging in 3 (even the super emeralds in S3&K), the levels weren't ass kickers, and the final boss (and really every other boss) was just a complete joke.
