I'm talking about when after I complete a level and hit enter, the screen freezes for a bit, and then goes on to the next level. It used to do this a bit even when I got the game, but only for a fraction of a second, and very rarely. Now, it does it on every level, and sometimes for up to 3 seconds. I looked at the bug wiki, but I didn't find anything on this. Does anyone else get this problem, and is there a fix?

OK, since nobody seems to know how to fix this, is it safe to delete my meatboy content, and reinstall? Will my saves be OK, and if no, where are they located so I can back them up?

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\super meat boy\UserData
(on my pc at least, check where your Steam install is gone and go from there)
^is where the SMB save game, backup and replay data should be. Back it up online if you want to be safe, by using Google Docs or Dropbox, for instance.

The load time between levels has been a bug in an older version of SMB, but it's not occurring for me anymore, so I can't help you there. Reinstalling the game data is always a good idea.

Just verify the game cache and go.

I don't know what you mean by that. I just backed up the save data and deleted local content through steam, and the I reinstalled. It kept save data, so the backup wasn't needed. But nothing changed. In fact, it now sometimes takes less time to exit a level and then go to the next one on the world map than it does to just hit enter. Did I not reinstall correctly? I really need to get this fixed. The way it is now, I don't think I will be able to keep playing the game.

Verifying the game cache is basically reinstalling the game except you don't have to desinstall it and it fix stuff for real.

Just search how to "verify the game cache on Steam" on Google, it's simple enough.

-Right click on the game in Steam, choose "Properties"
-Go to "Local Files"
-Click "Verify Intergrity of Game Cache"
-Let it run and it'll download anything missing.
-Launch the game, and endure the bs DirectX crap, then see if the issue is better.

Mine isn't better by the way, so I guess we're still waiting on the next update to fix it.  It's not as noticable in -lowdetail though, but on med/high it's still there.

After trying a whole bunch of stuff and eventually giving up, I just realized something. The only thing that changed on my computer between when everything was fine and when this problem started is that I changed my physical location. I'm on slow as hell DSL internet right now, and before I was on FIOS. I know that the leaderboards are updated as soon as you complete a level. This means that once you hit enter, the game needs to send info to the boards. Could the lag be caused by my internet connection?
