^Not much more to add really. One of the best platformers of all-time, period. To be honest man SMB has to be experienced to be appreciated, I can't really explain how thinking in terms of milliseconds and mastering the nuances of weird jumps is appealing...you just have to play it.

You can always just try the demo on XBL if you have an Xbox. Otherwise, you just need to take our word that Super Meat Boy is one of the best games of this year. If you're looking for some good reasons to buy it:
- Very tight controls - Aesthetics are beautiful - Brilliant soundtrack - Includes a fully-featured level editor - Comes with 370 levels, 7 intense boss battles, and a online level sharing service; easily days worth of fun - Steep but rewarding learning curve - 15 unlockable characters on XBL, 17 on Steam, 18 in the Ultra Edition - Levels are not entirely linear, challenges you to find the fastest route to the finish and use characters special abilities to help you - Great humor during cutscenes - Only $15 on Steam, 1200 MS points on XBL, or $20 for the Ultra Edition
You could buy every edition of this game and you'd still be paying less than what you would for a full retail game. Putting $15 into this game is money well spent.

I wasn't that much into hardcore platformers before, but this game really pushes you and makes you complete MIND-NUMBINGLY BRUTAL challenges. It really makes the levels feel like an accomplishment rather than a hassle (like in a lot of games that are similar to SMB).

The game's best quality, and the thing that sets it apart from other platformers is it's right controls. There are a lot of other good things about it, but that's the #1 reason by far for me.

The second you hit 50% in the Cotton Alley, you gain manhood (or womanhood, depending).

In the counterpart, the game has a couple of glitchs that will probably never get fixed.
Still worth it, though.

You should play the game because I play it. If you're doing something I'm doing you must be cool, obviously.

Since you're into indie games and Mario, then I think you'll very much appreciate Super Meat Boy. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I've played a heck of a lot of games.

Well most of the reasons have already been covered on here, but I wanted to point out something.
With the Steam Summer Sale just around the corner many games will be going on special, and I wouldn't be surprised if Super Meat Boy was one of them.
I do suggest picking it up if you like platforming, as not only do you get a couple of hundred levels for the main game, but the online level portal has hundreds upon hundreds more, with more added each day.
Basically, it's not like a normal game that you finish once and there's no reason to go back. There's always something new to do, level times to be perfected, and so on.
