I heard from Edmund that when SMW came out, all the levels were going to be character-specific, but will we ever be able to select who we want at the start?

If you know a level or (rather have) a chapter, point me in the right direction.

Yeah, probably this will not happen.  Most likely, levels will continue to be made character specific.
