The achievement idea of MC is a lot of better than regular achievements.

Can't argue with that.

Both meat boy and minecraft prove that you don't need fancy graphics for a game to be great! These days, companies are wasting money on making their games look good! But just look at super meat boy! Their retro themed levels, and even their glitchy levels are still really fun! It's just all the proof you need that a game doesn't need all those fancy modern graphics to be great!

Oh, today was a good day in Minecraft for me. (Note: actual day, it was about 2 in-game days) I found a bunch of iron in a cave that was open at the surface, and I made a new sword too. However, I did die 3 times. All while holding very valuable stuff that I would not want to lose. Luckily, I made it to my deathbed in time.

Also, I must say, when I heard that Minecraft would be getting achievments, I was kinda excited but now that I've seen them, I'm really disappointed. I mean, there's a lot of achievements that aren't really achievements, as they happen in the natural course of the game. And, it's kinda stupid to have to have done one achievement to get another. I mean, sure it works out OK for new players but what about people who are alerady members? It's stupid to have to punch down a tree, make a workbench and then craft another sword before I can get an achievement for getting leather from a cow.

Also, is it possible to stop passive mobs from spawning in an area that has a high enough light level for them? Every time I died, I respawned in my house surrounded by sheep and cows. I don't really want to make my house darker because it's kinda dark as is but I don't know of any other way to stop passive mobs from spawning.

EDIT:Also added some windows to my house so I can see outside without looking through my door, risking Creeper attacks.

I think I'm the only one who thinks Minecraft isn't a big deal.  Oh well!

^Nope, I completely agree with you. It's ugly, slow and just not entertaining imo.

"Not entertaining" for the non-creative minded.

When building and creating stuff isn't ones thingy, then he should definately walk around minecraft.

I was saying the same thing before bying it.
Now I think it's the best game ever.

Stop using floor made of grass, problem solved.

Ah, thought so. Well, I've got about 70 metric boatloads of cobblestone, so I should probably use them up for my floor.

Cobblestone is ugly, use wood or planks.

Yeah, I know, I was thinking of smelting a bunch of it into stone, crafting it into slabs and then replacing all the grass with doubleslab blocks, but that'd take way too long and I'd probably have to get a bucket of lava to not use more than all of my coal. So I'll probably just use planks, it's what the rest of the house is made of.

Wood burns, Cobblestone doesn't. Do the math. Use a Texture pack if needed.

Personally, I don't care, and use Cobblestone.

Can someone please cut it out with this stupid-ass stereotype? Not liking this game and not being creative are two completely different things. I love creating stuff, I played with Lego, I program games, I draw.
I shouldn't need to defend myself and my mindset just because some Minecraft players think their game is so good that it's only for the creative-minded and that they can distinguish types of people by the liking or not-liking of their little building simulator.

Did you know: Wood slabs doesn't burn (might be fixed now) and 2 wood slabs exactly look like a wood block.

So, WOOD THAT DOESN'T BURN.
