Around 75 tries, 2 realmom kills! I've also got a shot of my Isaac (actually Cain, because he's such a BAMF) right before my 2nd kill:  Finding both a dollar and a skeleton key was a godsend. |

Holy fucking goddamn mother of fuck. This game is harder than bull-shitted mutated nuts. I just got to "The Depths: II" and died by one of the blood-shooting skulls that you can't kill. My hands and fingers hurt like hell... Anyone who thought Super Meat Boy was hard should give this game a try.  EDIT: @Nephewjack, is that a meat boy you've got behind you?? lol. Although this game is hard, it's still awesome. I really appreciate the self-generated rooms and all the different cool things you can find. Anybody found the Arcade room or the Teleport room yet? I thought those were pretty sweet. |

I've seen the arcade, it's cool. Also, if anyone fights one of the four horseman, please get a photo or, preferably, a video. I have the game, but I haven't gotten past caves 1 yet, so it might be a while before I unlock them.
EDIT: Today I made it to the Depths! Haven't died yet, but I have stuff to do. Maybe I'll finish later tonight.

So, it turns out that if you die with extra lives after selling your soul to the devil, you lose any heart containers you collected. Also this happened. I couldn't move, but the boss could move me.  And because I had poison touch I managed to kill it.  I'm kind of pissed I lost that game to a bug (or two if I'm supposed to retain containers), those demon wings were insanely useful.  |

That cat item will be always for me a troll item. The only way it could be useful its when you play as Judas and dont find any extra heart container.

In Basement I I found Magic Mushroom that gives you plus one in all stats. So OP.
Chocolate Milk upgrade gives you charged shots which is pretty cool (I had nanotech so huge lazer beam)
Love this game! I never want to beat it!

I FINALLY reached and beat mom. I also got to the Womb... which was hell. I made it to the first boss in the Womb, but it was that worm inside of that bubble. I died pretty fast.  Also, I fought War, one of the horse guys. That was intense, but epic.  I can't imagine what it will be like when I face the thing in the main picture for the game, thats in the far right background, with no eyes.  EDIT: Okay, I just fought the thing with no eyes. It was one of the horse men. |

Has anyone else gotten the x-ray glasses? SO USEFUL! Whenever you walk into a room with a secret door in it, the door opens automatically. Also, inside the secret rooms, all the doors are open. It means you can skip out of tough fights, or, more importantly, get into rooms that normally require a key, like the shop and power-up rooms. If they're adjoining a secret room, that is.

OMG!!! I KILLED MOM!!! Okay, not the Mom in the Womb, but I beat the depths and unlocked the Harbingers! Holy crap, that was intense. I had the dead cat, and it got down to me, fighting with no special ability (used it on an earlier life) no extra lives, and one heart max health. And I killed her! Wow, that was tough. Her voice is creepy... Iiii-saaaaac....  |

I beat the games 5 times, and the endings are horrible. I know, gameplay > plot, I agree with that, but... if you are going to add some endings... they should be at least "cool"

Is this the official Isaac thread where we can give our impressions? I'm going to assume it is.
Things I don't like: Not being able to fire diagonally. Plus the randomness of weapon upgrades. You're stock weapon is appropriately weak, but mid-way through the game and you still haven't gotten a damage upgrade or a weapon satellite/buddy (ala Gradius or R-type) makes the game much more tedious and frustrating than fun.
But, it seems like the more you play the more lenient the game is when it comes to giving you upgrades. Starting out I'd rarely get weapon upgrades other than Range (and Range is pretty pointless) for the majority of the game. Instead you'd just get health upgrades. Now it seems like it's the opposite.
Yesterday I got the first ending where you beat Mom and I think that was brave to end it like that. Not being sarcastic at all when I type this, I actually liked it.
Just now I beat the real final boss -Mom's Heart- after about a dozen tries and the endings were a bit of a let down. First one I got just unlocked another character with a Fez, and the character isn't really worth using because his damage special doesn't do a lot of extra damage. I did beat the game a 3rd time with him and I got the one where Isaac finds a noose and hangs himself. Odd.
Overall: I did like it. Worth $5 definitely. I get the feeling that an Iphone/Android version is coming.

Despite my username, I'm not really a Sonic fan. The name just stuck from when I was one. If I want fast action nowadays I just play Meat Boy. Or chase my cat. Sneaky little devil she is.
