Please, bear in mind I have already tried almost every single launch command available and the game still crashing.

Well well, hi everyone!
I bought this game on the christmas sale, over eight months ago, and I'm still being able to even launch the game.

The "bug/problem" description it's as simple as "Double click on the shortcut -> Game Launches -> Screen goes black -> Sound of "something failed" -> Message of "Woops, something failed, sorry, etc".

First time I tried to make the game work on my computer was eight months ago, before those big updates. I tried lot of stuff and the game kept crashing, so "screw it, I'll wait till the updates", and I let the game get some virtual dust.
But the big updates came and nothing changed: The game kept crashing over and over again, and only the "We will fix this problem soon" message appeared. Of course, the problem were not fixed "soon".

As I said before, I've tried almost every single command launch option available in this Team Meat's Post in almost every combination possible. Fullscreen, windowed, 800x600, 1440x900 (Desktop resolution), lowdetail, highdetail... and nothing. Asked twice in Steam forums and didn't get a answer, etc etc.

As -I hope xD- many of you can understand, I got pissed off quite a long time. Now the ticket thingie has made me having again interest in running the game, and I found that forum exist, so I've said to myself "let's give it a shot and see if it's not a lost cause", so here I am.

For informative purposes: Im running the game in a Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop with a Intel Core 2 Duo (2.00 GHZ) processor, an Ati Mobility X1400 (Latest drivers, sort of given it's a laptop), Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. I'm not running any anti-virus software, as Windows reminds me every time it boots up, and... I don't know what else add here.
Currently, I only ignore what's the force refresh rate command.

Any ideas, besides move to play other stuff?

P.S: I forgot, I have Direct X 9.0c installed, and it seems it's the latest version, or something like that.

More details of the error message would be helpful, but in the meantime...

The launch options listed in the sticky are meant to fix lag and graphical issues. Try installing the latest drivers for all of your hardware and reinstalling DirectX (just so you're 100% sure it's up to date).

If that doesn't fix it (which wouldn't surprise me, it's just a general solution) post a screenshot of any and all error messages to help us better understand the issue.

Let's see...

This is the error message I got. Nothhing more. When I bought the game, a different message appeared (Super Meat Boy stopped working, or something similar), but after an update, only this message appears.
I got over a thousand files in the Super Meat Boy called supermeatboy_1100464_crash_2011_7_3T7_11_5C0.mdmp (With different dates and hours), which seems to be steam error dump files. Trying to open one of those files with notepad ++ results in a file with a HUGE amount of "nul" characters.

Also, I've tried to reinstall the files included in the "Prerequisites" folder and nothing.
The Direct X Web Setup says me my Direct X version it's up to date (Given I'm in old hardware, "up to date" means Direct x 9.0c).
Will try to check if there's new driver for the graphic card in the interwebs, but as I said, I'm running the game in a laptop and it's kind of difficult finding a driver installer which works with my hardware. Plus, its a 4-5 years old graphic card, and maybe the latest drivers are not the best fit for it.
(Also, my current configuration is able tu run pretty well games like San Andreas, TF2 or Men of War).

Maybe some info on the audio card would be useful?

i have the exact same problem, i have a feeling its because of your graphics card, a lot of games don't run well with certain cards, i have a Nvidia and even full disc games have a bit of a problem i.e. half life 2, portal. so the only time i ever got it to work was when i uninstalled it, reinstalled it, installed prerequisites, reinstalled direct x, and it work for a couple second before i decided to try and change the resolution for better running
