[D:]just got the ULTRA RARE edition i preordered from the UK..and punching its CDKEY gives me a "sorry but the following items are not availble for purchase in this country.your purchase has been cancelled" message. never had problems with steam or UK orders before..please help!!!  (LOL NICE ICONS..I MEAN HEEEELP!!) |

That's pretty strange. Did you try setting your Steam country to UK? Maybe it needs that to work.

I dont live in the UK but order games from there all the time-never had this problem before,and nothing suggests this game is region locked so it must be some error I hope..  |

no mention of this in the web or the game's box so i hoped it was wrong,but the steam support dudes say that super meat boy is region locked.anyone else experienced this kind of problem with the new retail edition? please post it here..also if you want to buy it and live outside the uk then think twice before you do since it might not work.ill update here if it turns out to be false.this sucks!  |

ammm,what I have reads ultra rare..its the one with just the face on the outer box.and shirt+ultra edition and poster inside.not those german editions or whatever,and not the other box where you see the whole body thing if thats what you mean.

Whoops, did I say Ultra Rare? I forgot that the Ultra Edition is just named Ultra. I haven't really been keeping up on Super Meat Boy related news recently, especially considering that NOT EVEN THE ACTIVE FORUM USERS POST IT ANYMORE. yeah well not available usually sounds like not sold at stores outside the UK,since no game I know was region locked so far,(they tried doing that at deus ex and got fanboy rage and cancelled)they should have announced something like region locking ahead of time.and alereted the retailers-not even the game box mentions it.sorry about being upset,its a shame tham SMB which is a great game,would be remembered as the first game to use steam to hurt customers like this. +is that tweet from 7 hours ago? +there is a rumor that region locking was actually invented by doctor fetus himself.  |

the firstone-not the rare edition(wher you can see the entire body on the outer box) but rather the ultra rare edition where you see only the smb face on the outer box

I don't think there are two versions of the game that come in the big box. As far as I know, the Ultra Rare edition only comes in the box in the first link that Sr. Domi gave, and that the box art with the full body was only concept art.
The Rare edition just comes in a DVD case with a cardboard slipcase, and does not include the T-Shirt and outer box - that's the only difference.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

as far as i know the dvd only edition you mentioned is the ultra edition.I dont really know if they sell the "rare" edition(maybe in the US?) or maybe theres just the "ultra rare" edition.
